One last major project for the year involved adding new maintenance free fascia and soffits to the house. Having some handsome young construction workers doing the job was a side bonus!
The crazy kids over at the Relax-o-matic Plushitorium made their very best cat calls, and drank as much keg beer as they could while "on the job" in Black Rock City this year. You know? Just as your everyday construction worker would! Who wouldn't want to spend a hot sunny afternoon around a manhole?

A couple of months ago I was doing one of my periodic wanderings through the Hamilton, Ontario downtown area to see what I could find. As part of the ongoing renewal process underway in downtown Hamilton, I came across a demolition site on Hughson Street. The building had been demolished and the rubble largely cleared out. One worker was up in a scissors lift, tethered via a harness to the platform of the lift and was working on some residual materials. The bright yellow reflective safety vest in the dappled late afternoon light caught my eye. - JW

Taken using a hand-held Nikon D7100 fitted with an AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 (non-VR) lense set to 300mm, ISO125 (Auto ISO), Auto WB, Shutter priority mode, F/6.3, 1/400 sec with an EV+0.33 exposure bias. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: scale image to set final size to 9000x6000, set exposure to EV-0.17 (slightly darker than as-shot), increase contrast and Chromaticity in L-A-B mode, slightly boost vibrance, enable Shadows/highlights and boost highlight recovery to make sure the light coat details are preserved and also slightly recover shadows a little, sharpen, save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: copy the image to two layers, top layer for adjustment of man and bottom layer for overall/background adjustment, add a black/transparent layer mask to the top layer and then use a large soft-edged brush with white paint to paint in the man on the mask, adjust the tone curve for the background and for the man layers individually to bring out the look I wanted in each layer without impacting the other layer, create new working layer from visible result, slightly boost saturation, slightly increase overall contrast, sharpen, save, scale image to 6000x4000, sharpen, save, add fine black-and-white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 1800 wide for posting, sharpen slightly, save.
Who knew that one man only could create so much smoke with his cigarette??!!
