The way construction works are carried out in Bangladesh is just scary. No securities, no safety measures, no regulatory or controlling organization. Just a few days ago a construction worker died due to electric shock he received from the electric supply line during lifting of steel bars.
Here is another scene of work going on without any safety. God knows what is going to happen...
Walking around the downtown area which has been torn up due to lots and lots of (de)construction, I saw this man and took his picture. The white helmet signifies that he's a supervisor.
Construction professionals work together to raise the Watt Family Innovation Center Jan. 6, 2015. The Watt Family Innovation Center is under development with state of the art information technology and special facilities to enable undergraduate and graduate students, from all Clemson colleges, to think ahead of the curve, develop their own ideas with support from faculty mentors and connect to industry partners seeking new methods and solutions.
There will be flexible space for collaboration and project development, and for industry and government partners to work side-by-side with students and faculty, exploring and discovering new concepts for the marketplace.
Students, their innovative ideas and concepts, will be nurtured and supported by faculty members and professional partners.

Anyone living in Bracknell is well aware of the town centre regeneration which is taking place. Our new town will be ready next autumn.
Much has been said about the new buildings and shops but very little about the huge army of builders, construction workers, electricians, plumbers and labourers who are actually putting the pieces in place.

Number 13 unlucky for some. Right about now big daz is clutching his face moaning "my eyes my eyes" personally I don't think I look too bad for a 40 year old :) Yes today I captured your common or garden variety of Swedish carpenter in his natural habitat wearing his summer uniform.
It took me forever to do this self portrait, and I went through a whole range of facial expressions most of which made me look like I was either in pain or miserable. I finally managed one where I looked normal. If I posted the ones I took in the works van with my iphone you would probably be bent double laughing, they certainly made me laugh.
Monday, I enjoyed mine, Slow Joe was in another city working, which is probably a good thing, lets face it even a city of 60,000 only has so much toilet paper.
I am still working on that house I talked about in earlier posts, and now I have ripped out everything there are only external walls remaining. I have gutted it completely and the sad thing is it looks 1000 % better now than it did the first day I set foot inside. A couple of text messages cheered me up in the morning when it was cold and dark, it was -8 this morning but the coldest place in Sweden today was -35 so no complaints from me there. The day has been pretty much plain sailing since then. Just lots of sawing and hammering.
Slow Joe turned up in the afternoon and managed to carry out two pieces of floor over a 2 hour period. I tried to give him the easy job of sawing floor into manageable sizes thinking it would go faster if I did the heavy lifting. Joe thought that was a bit too technical. You can't get angry with Joe though, it would be like kicking a puppy, so things moved along at Joe speed until 1600.
A quick trip down to town after work for some supplies and a photography magazine, that will probably end up on the pile that I keep meaning to read but am too busy eating cooking or taking pictures.
Good news for the lady of the house, she now getting a completely new bathroom too, in the end we are practically building a new house, it's a shame we aren't I really don't like the look of some of the walls, but that's the insurance companies decision. If you have been following the story then you will remember the cash boxes that were built into the wall in a secret stash. Well it seems the people in the office got far too curious about what was in them so they asked a locksmith to open them ... I thought they would contain money but nooooo hundreds and hundreds of tax returns were inside, bizarre.
More good news we got the asbestos tests back today (funny considering I have been working there for a week) so no asbestos in the house, not strictly true since I removed some today´, but we won't tell anyone I did that since I am not supposed to remove it as I don't have the special asbestos education.
I tried all manner of looks, locations and lighting for this shot, flash, no flash, black backdrop, no backdrop, hall, kitchen, bedroom. Then add to that running back and forth to the camera, trying to smile normally, which I find quite hard standing in front of the camera for some reason. So it's taken me quite a while to finish, but I did have fun, especially when I remembered how the ones from the van looked :)

Warragamba Dam is a heritage-listed dam in the outer South Western Sydney suburb of Warragamba, Wollondilly Shire in New South Wales, Australia. It is a concrete gravity dam, which creates Lake Burragorang, the primary reservoir for water supply for the city of Sydney. Dam construction began in 1948 and was completed in 1960. The resulting dam of the Warragamba River formed Lake Burragorang, which is one of the largest reservoirs for urban water supply in the world.
The Workers Memorial at the visitor centre honours the 15 labourers, carpenters, drillers, and other workers who died in workplace accidents while building the dam, constructing the emergency pipeline or clearing the valley. The memorial was unveiled during the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2010.
