With a population close to 16 million, Dhaka City's gridlocks are fast becoming global legends straight out of hell. In order to somewhat ameliorate this unreal traffic-at-a-standstill situation, the authorities are currently constructing several flyovers and new interconnections across the city . This is a silhouetted view of the Kuril flyover with construction workers on top, against the backdrop of a breathtaking sunset.
A set of colorful KInder working gnomes captured in macro. The attention is focused on the construction worker, the inn keeper, the farmer, the chef and the potter.

Shot with the Minolta Hi-Matic 7SII and Kodak Ektar film. This compact rangefinder is in the genre of todays fujifilm X100 series. The camera has a super contrasty and "tack sharp" six element 40mm f1.7 lens. I was lucky enough to find a rare black paint body in great shape.

Workers remove chains used to secure a massive girder to the bed of a tractor trailor truck. Once the chains are off, crews will attach the concrete beam to cables on two huge cranes.
The busiest construction weekend yet saw crews tackle installation of girders and concrete deck panels at four overpasses along the State Route 520 corridor from Feb. 24-27, 2012. All lanes of the highway were closed so crews could move more than 4 million pounds of massive concrete girders for new lidded overpasses above the highway at Bellevue Way Northeast and 84th Avenue Northeast. Concrete deck panels were installed at Evergreen Point Road and 92nd Avenue Northeast during a chilly weekend that saw heavy rain, hailstorms and plummeting temperatures.

One last major project for the year involved adding new maintenance free fascia and soffits to the house. Having some handsome young construction workers doing the job was a side bonus!
