Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) offered their services and facilities and helped with the construction of new buildings as well as providing water, food, clothes and shelter for those who lost everything.
This was a crane at a construction site in Singapore. The middle section of the crane is where the controller's cabin is located, located low enough that it is easily reachable and yet high enough that the operator gets a good overview of the area and can do his job more efficiently.
The view from the train shows an overview of this construction area I have been following. (set under construction). The mixture of buildings superimposed on each other is difficult to get used to, if you knew the original building fassade.
The old grey silos (see note) were supposed to be preserved. I had always wondered how this would be possible. And, of course, it is hardly feasible to build a high rise building AND preserve the silos. They are cramped into the red building and one side is hardly visible now. The other side, however, is still "unattached".

Even though the Maeslantkering is rumoured to have commandeered all cement trucks in South-Holland for one weekend during construction, apparently it's still thirsty for fresh concrete.

The new Jaguar/Land Rover (JLR) dealership. This and the site opposite used to be the Ford Transit factory until it was shut and production moved to Europe. The site lay unloved until it was bulldozed and a 'premier logistics park' built over it.
