This was a crane at a construction site in Singapore. The middle section of the crane is where the controller's cabin is located, located low enough that it is easily reachable and yet high enough that the operator gets a good overview of the area and can do his job more efficiently.

The long overdue Marynarska street overpass renovation is starting to get into shape. The project promises to ease the daily commute to and from work for thousand of drivers and passengers. While the work is progressing at full speed, the traffic is suffering even more.

Will the new overpass cure our pains? Some fear it won't. Only public transport is the way to go for all major cities.

I've been watching this development at King's Cross progress since it was just a hole in the ground. It's going up fast now. The area under construction is vast. I hope it lives up to its promise. There's certainly a buzz and excitement there now. A little further along King's Boulevard vans park each lunchtime serving all sorts of interesting street food. It would be nice if some of that alternative atmosphere is maintained.

This detail is the most difficult to get used to. The high rise building seems to be built ON the old brick fassade building. The old brick building was not only not preserved totally, but the left side and the right side have different levels now, and the whole "thing" seems to be lopsided. I seriously wonder if this lopsidedness will be compensated in the end. To tell the truth I hardly expect it to. (But then again, this view might be biased by knowing what the original looked like). All sectors were three floors high, but now there are short and taller sections, besides the new building hanging over the brick structure. Symmetry was totally broken, probably because the new site was sectioned. Who knows? And from the street it is practically impossible to capture this complex entirely, due to the different perspectives. I just saw an image here in Flickr of a longish building in Portugal, which reminded me of the original here.

What more can I say? The most beautiful cathedral in the world...in Barcelona. This is imitation gothic at its best. The crane adds a sense of continuity...the unfinished masterpiece.

Land formerly belonging to Ford for their production of Transit vans. Like most things, this has moved abroad and the land has been acquired to build an industrial/logistics park - nevermind that close by Barton Park Industrial Estate is under-used and the road over rail bridge nearby is ill equipped to take anymore heavy lorry traffic.
