Bauarbeiten an den neuen Widerlagern für die neue S-Bahnbrücke am S-Bf. Yorckstraße (Großgörschenstraße); der ehemaligen Station "Großgörschenstraße".
Japanese Workers do every morning some excercise. They are about to start. Even the guardsman take part in it.
In India a lot of women are working on construction sides and also on roadworks. they carry stones, muds, cement etc on their head from place to place.

Bauarbeiten am S-Bhf. Yorckstraße (Großgörschenstraße) - S1 - für den Austauschen der alten Brücken des Gleises Richtung Wannsee / Potsdam finden bereits seit vielen Monaten statt und sind inzwischen abgeschlossen; jetzt ist die Gegenrichtung dran.
Vor ein paar Monaten wurde endlich ein Baustellenschild aufgestellt und ein Ende der Bauarbeiten tatsächlich für den 20.12.2014 (!) angekündigt. Lassen wir uns überraschen mit wie viel Verspätung dieses Bauprojekt erledigt wird.
Inzwischen gibt es Veröffentlichungen, die als Endtermin für die Bauarbeiten das Frühjahr 2015 bzw. September 2015 nennen. Mal sehen was dann stimmt!
Three old houses still remain in this area of intense construction work and change.
The houses are to the left. I captured this constrast and a bit of the remaining garden.
Some other views of the houses can be seen in these images here. To the front, is the new construction and the green building in the background. I managed to follow up part of that work too (The green skyscraper replaced the offices where I once worked. I guess that was what got me into these Before and After series in the first place). Links and sets have to be completed still. But, for those of you who know the area this shows the present phase of this little niche. (There is still a lot of change going on in this area of Zurich West).

Relief Aid Workers with children affected by the Indonesian Earthquake. These aid workers are present to help these children by providing them with food, water and shelter.
Workers pour concrete beneath the I-12 4-H Club Road overpass. This section of I-12 is being widened to six lanes, creating the need for a wider overpass. Concrete from the truck is poured into the large metal hopper, which is then hoisted to workers atop the overpass. From there it is deposited into the post forms via the orange tubes shown at the upper left.

When we were in Singapore, one could see that there was a lot of construction work ongoing in Singapore. You turn the corner and there would be a cordoned off section where there would be some sort of construction work ongoing, and a crane hanging over the entire area. This is construction work happening just next to the Suntec City with a cordoned off plot and with a crane overseeing the area.

Mountside Park, Wide Lane, Southampton.
The new Jaguar/Land Rover (JLR) dealership. This and the site opposite used to be the Ford Transit factory until it was shut and production moved to Europe. The site lay unloved until it was bulldozed and a 'premier logistics park' built over it.

The dike was built as a seawall after the primal dunes were washed away.
Details of the lining of the dike: concrete and asphalt (bitumen) on the seaward side, the outer slope, grass and clay on the land side.
