The back of the mech showing the tread the mech rolls on. It actually works, which was definitely one of the challenges in the design. There was hardly any clearance, and I wanted to keep it on the thin side.
A large block of stone which was being worked on before construction was interrupted due to the Spanish invasion - it is still sitting on smaller stones used to slide it into position.
The slots and protrusions visible on this block were used to interlock it with its eventual neighbours to increase the stability of the resulting construction.
My white dress was made using throw away materials - white plastic bags which I fused with an iron and cut into a pattern based on a 1770s design over a brown wrapping paper petticoat.
In 2002, the peaceful field and hedge grown over the Bedford-Hitchin railway line, slashed in the Beeching Cuts, at the back of our married quarter in Borton Avenue at RAF Henlow, was torn up and building of houses commenced. Our peace was gone.
The large grey shed is part of RAF Henlow.

My company is building a second building on the empty lot behind our office. When I left work mid-afternoon Monday, there was nothing to show for the building project but a lot of dirtwork and some poured footings. After only two days away I drove into the parking lot Thursday morning and was greeted by an elevator shaft. (The photo above is the completed shaft as it looked by the time I left work Thursday night.)
Best viewed large. There is a woman working on her motorcyle to the right in the shadows, a construction worker descending an upper story sair case , and there is an entire construction crew in an exterior elevator marked "Morrow" visible just under the lamp globes / beside the Market Theater sign.
The new chip fab factory under construction. It is one of the largest construction projects currently underway in the world.
