This is how game consoles looked before my time. The controller was actually on the game console so you were restricted to the box.

Another yard sale find ($10), painted with Rustoleum "Heirloom White". (I found the lamp at the same yard sale for just $5!!)

These are some promo shots for a local band, Console Warriors. Expect to hear a lot more of them very soon, these guys are truly talented.

Console Warriors are a 3-piece Alt Rock outfit from Adelaide, South Australia. Still in school, Bill Meegan (vocals/guitar) and Fionn Tschanz-Bartleet (drums) formed Console Warriors in mid-2010 and are about to release their first EP. Influences include The Strokes, Radiohead, Bloc Party, The Smiths, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins...

Check out their first demo track, ‘Ode To Overstreet’ - and look out for the upcoming EP!

Almost every console available, including a japanese Sega Saturn and playstation, and these guys were also cool enough to have a "library" of games so that you could swap out with whatever game your heart desired.

This is a vintage Odyssey II video game console I recently picked up at a local thrift store.

After the service, I took this photo of the organ console . . . small & simple ~ but it is a delightful little two-manual-and-pedal organ, and a pleasure to play.

Nigel Wickens, who plays here, and at Stanhoe, told me he was worried about the organ at Stanhoe ~ which had been playing-up recently, with sticking notes and 'cyphers' ~ because he had to play it for Harvest Festival that same evening.

After visiting Herbert at Fring for coffee-and-chat, I detoured home via Stanhoe, and spent an hour sorting out the sticking notes . . . mainly caused by mouse-droppings getting lodged between the keys !

I went home for a quick bite-to-eat . . . then went back to join the Stanhoe congregation for their Harvest Festival . . . and drum-up yet more publicity for my recital !

The 12-24 DX lens works quite well on the D3 in FX mode as long as you stay over the 18mm mark.

This is a shot of the Amek 9098 console that we use at Studio 12, CBC Montréal. It's a really great analog board but because of rising maintenance costs, we will have to switch it in the next few months for a digital SSL C200 which hopefully should sound as good.

The wired console underside, showing the iPac controller and it's USB cable. It's patched into deathstar, my MythTV box. In the background you can see MythGame running.

The console is not complete yet, I need the Coin1 and Coin2 buttons, plus some other 'basic control' buttons (like Escape and Tab), which haven't arrived yet.
