Black-tailed prairie dogs, Cynomys ludovicianus, console one another for their plight. They live in a moderate-sized colony in an area that was once a meadow. They ate all the good plants, and those that remain are highly defended by chemical defenses. At the edge of the colony is a large cottonwood with a bald eagle's nest, occupied by two adults and their very big chick. The eagles consider this densely occupied weed field to be their personal banquet table. As if poisoned food and looming predators were not enough, a badger trundled through the colony the previous day, sniffing burrows and making plans.
Life drags on, and then you die. Hug a friend and console them.

Mixing my latest album on a vintage console, the very one that was used for Queen's "A night at the Opera". With Daniel, the magician.
The outskirts of the island of the languishing heart. While I was wading knee-deep in icy water in search of interesting splashes on the rocks, the sun rose quite high. The clouds above the island were thickening, and the sky began to darken ominously. We could not catch the right lighting, and each scene looked rather dull and dim. Little by little, the group began to pack their backpacks and prepare to storm the cliff to try angles from above. While packing my backpack, I noticed a bird sitting on top of the cliff. These rocks, like giant claws, stuck out of the ice. A pale beam of light barely illuminated them.
The noise I made while preparing to shoot would have scared away even a flock of domestic birds. I understand that a free and completely wild bird was not ready for this and simply flew away on its own business. So, all I could do was take a photo to remember my failure and pack my backpack once again, consoling myself with the thought that next time everything would work out.
And now I console myself with the thought that the bird would not have saved the frankly disastrous composition of the shot.
Over 10,000 people of Japanese descent were incarcerated in the Manzanar Relocation Camp during World War 2. Over 150 died during detention. After the war ended and the Japanese people were released, most moved their loved one's remains to their home area. Only six graves remain in the cemetery along with the 15 feet tall monument erected by camp residents. The characters read: Soul Consoling Tower. The obelisk remains a focal point for visitors to reflect upon the meaning of this place.

. . . I am jealous that some people are putting up Christmas decorations now. At least I have white lights around the fire pit at the cabin to console me!

Prayer on my Birthday, 28 February 2008:
I offer you, Lord, my thoughts: to be fixed on You;
my words: to have You for their theme;
my actions: to reflect my love for You;
my sufferings: to be endured for your greater glory.
I want to do what You ask of me: in the way You ask,
for as long as You ask, because You ask it.
I pray, Lord, that You enlighten my mind,
inflame my will, purify my heart, and sanctify my soul.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born again
to eternal life.
Ameen
The Soul Consoling Tower stands as a poignant memorial at the Manzanar National Historic Site, honoring the Japanese Americans who died during their incarceration at the Manzanar War Relocation Center in World War II. Erected in August 1943, this white concrete obelisk bears the inscription 慰霊塔 ("Irei To") on its front, translating to "Soul Consoling Tower."

I'm not sure what I'm looking for anymore
I just know that I'm harder to console
I don't see who I'm trying to be instead of me
But the key is a question of control
Can you say what you're trying to play anyway
I just pay while you're breaking all the rules
All the signs that I find have been underlined
Devils thrive on the drive that is fueled ...

At the end of Corona month of April they first appeared in the streets of the Dutch city of Schiedam behind the windows of residents and shops: posters with consoling art (‘troostkunst’). The original works of art by more than fifty artists are now on display in Municipal Museum Schiedam.
In the cloister, the carved consoles on the wall side and the capitals on the garden side evoke both profane and sacred subjects, real and fantastic. Animals, in particular, are numerous. They illustrate this medieval world populated by beasts and monsters, wild and domestic fauna (bears, camels, rams, donkeys), sometimes fantastic (tarasques, dragons, chimeras...) or even these disturbing beings, human faces wearing horns and rubbing shoulders with devils surrounded by flames... These remarkable sculptures are reminiscent of the cloister of the cathedral of Saint-Trophime in Arles or the sculptures of the Château de Tarascon where we find this fantastic bestiary, incarnation of the devil (the Drac, celebrated in Beaucaire).
Pictures to come of the consoles and capitals
You can take your poxy WiiMe and swivel! :-) Introducing the brand new XBox Live Avatar, which has been introduced today as part of the new console interface update.
I'm sure you'll agree, the resemblance is uncanny! ;-)
The new interface update is pretty damned impressive and radical, as well. Very swish and pretty. If you don't have a 360 yet - why not? Stick one on your Christmas list now! :-D
Mainly a bit of practice to see if I could pull off a detailed enough design for the 13th Doctor's console. I think it turned out rather nice.
A return to one of my favourite Tardis console rooms I've designed over the past few years. I made a few tweaks and changes to the console. Along with changing the colour scheme to a more 'steampunk' theme.
It's a Sun-drenched day in the house by the sea: Sea breeze, wisteria, and incense fill the air. A Labrador lounges lazily in the sun, while the room bathes in an afternoon glow, soft sofas and armchair warm to the touch. Budgies share a kiss, embodying an Italian summer romance dream."
Dead Unicorn has a new house out at the current Cosmopolitan event! We are super excited to present the Casa Al Mare - an exquisite Italian inspired build - perfect for christmas on the beach or a summer escape. As an Italian kiwi, this build resonates with my heart! Wohn- und Geschäftshaus an der Adresse Tuchlauben 1 / Bognergasse 1 / Naglergasse 2 im 1. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Innere Stadt.
Residential and commercial building at the address Tuchlauben 1 / Bognergasse 1 / Naglergasse 2 in Vienna's 1st district, Innere Stadt.
This late historic house, which is free on three sides, was built in 1901 according to plans by Christian Ulrich. At the corners of the building there are two domed round bay windows on monumental caryatids; towards Naglergasse there is a four-story, three-axis bay window on consoles. Otherwise, the facade is structured with pilaster strips, giant pilasters and three-part aedicula windows with balconies.
I built this for the Nerdvember 2021 Comic contest in the scene category. I chose to recreate the iconic TARDIS console from the tv show Doctor Who.
You can see additional pictures and read more about the build here: legohobbitbuilder.wordpress.com/2021/11/30/the-tardis-con...
