The poles are approx 12 inches x 12 inches or 30cm x 30 cm square cross section with rounded corners. Length is about 5 metres or 15 feet. At one end is an arrow head type projection designed to protect then. The other end is more rounded and would appear to be consistent with a pole in the ground although there are no ground marks (or a circle where the ground level was. Maybe a vertical pole where the iron arrow head prevents people standing on top? Or a horizontal pole or beam to protect a weir or bridge or support?
These 2 substantial wooden poles are now deposited on a stone/boulder/screen bank in the river Allen within the National Trust Allen Banks and Staward Gorge property.

After being consistently let down by the quality of the processing at the local photo lab I decided to take the leap and begin processing my own (first) E6 then C41 film. This past week I started on the fall & winter alphabets. I'm holding off on the spring/summer alphabets until I get more feedback. Freshly plucked grass and flowers pose more of a time restriction and I want all the letters within each season to look consistent.
Final application is a calendar.
Unlike the letters I'm basing this project off, I didn't adhere to any strict outline or specific typeface. The forms are still based on a generic serif typeface, as I feel the delicate feel is appropriate, yet I didn't want to limit the organic materials by trying to force them into a pre-determined shape.

China’s position on Ukraine crisis ‘consistent and clear,’ Chinese Foreign Ministry says following Fu Cong’s interview with Al Jazeera on Crimea
In response to the latest remarks of the Chinese envoy to EU Fu Cong at Al Jazeera addressing Ukraine's 1991 territorial integrity, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday China's position on Ukraine crisis is consistent and clear.
"We believe that all parties should create conditions for a political settlement of the crisis through dialogue and negotiation," Mao Ning, spokesperson of the ministry, told at a press conference on Wednesday.
Mao's comments were made following Al Jazeera on Tuesday publishing an interview with Fu whose remarks were interpreted as that China could back Ukraine's aims of "reclaiming its 1991 territorial integrity, which includes Crimea question."
"I do not know Ambassador Fu's specific statement, but as I just said, China's position on the Ukraine crisis is consistent and very clear. With regard to your mention of Crimea, we also hope that Crimea can be resolved through political channels," Mao said.
In a recent interview with Al Jazeera and two other media outlets, when Fu was asked about whether he supports Ukraine's goals, "which includes reclaiming other Ukrainian regions now occupied by Russia," the Chinese diplomat said, "I don't see why not."
Some Chinese observers believe that Fu's quotes were taken out of the context with ill-intentioned motives of creating discord between China and Russia or creating pressure on China over the Ukraine crisis, and some chose to spin the remarks as "China unexpectedly supports Ukraine's desire to liberate Crimea."
"China's position on the Ukraine's territorial claims have not changed, but the Western media is now trying to create ambiguity from clarity, creating new pressure on China," Cui Hongjian, director of the Department of European Studies at the China Institute of International Studies, told the Global Times on Wednesday.
Fu's remarks are considered to be a reiteration of China's consistent position as China does not recognize the reality of the change of sovereignty in Crimea, but it does not explicitly support one party's territorial request, the expert said.
However, Al Jazeera and other media outlets interpreted his words as "China supports Ukraine's territorial claim", which is an over-interpretation, Cui noted.
In response to questions on whether China would recognize the referendum results in Crimea, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said at a media briefing on March 17, 2014 that China always respects the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all countries.
The Crimean issue should be resolved politically within the framework of law and order, and all parties should exercise restraint and refrain from taking actions that may exacerbate tensions, the ministry said.

Fu Cong, Chinese ambassador to the European Union, has said that he does not rule out Beijing's support for Ukraine's desire to restore its territorial integrity by returning to the borders of 1991.

Details: When journalists asked the Chinese diplomat about supporting Ukraine's goals, in particular the return of Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia, he replied,"I don’t see why not".
Quote: "We respect the territorial integrity of all countries. So when China established relations with the former Soviet Union, that’s what we agreed on. But as I said, these are historical issues that need to be negotiated and resolved by Russia and Ukraine and that is what we stand for," Fu said.
AL Jazeera noted that this is not the first such comment by China's ambassador to the EU. In an interview with The New York Times in April, Fu stated that China does not endorse Russia's efforts to annex Ukrainian territories, particularly Crimea and Donbas.
While other Chinese officials and the Foreign Ministry usually refrain from such comments, Fu emphasised in a recent interview that China's position on Ukraine "has been very clear".
"We advocate peace and we believe that it is important to achieve peace as soon as possible by resolving differences at the negotiating table," he said.
For reference: Cooperation between Moscow and Beijing strengthened after Russia decided to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022.
China refused to criticise Moscow's actions, instead accusing the US and NATO of provoking the Kremlin, and criticised sanctions against Russia. The latter, in turn, strongly supported China regarding the tension in relations with the United States over Taiwan.

In the concluding line “war for me to become you,” Kruger has x-ed out the pronouns “me” and “you,” confounding clear notions of who is speaking and resisting any univocal position. The final element of the work restages the text from one of Kruger’s best-known works, Untitled (Your body is a battleground), 1989, which she originally produced as a poster for the April 1989 March for Women’s Lives in Washington, DC to protest new laws limiting women’s access to health care. A Disciplined And Consistent Person Will Make It. One thing that I’ve always looked at in my business is consistency. Being consistent also requires discipline and it’s always a goal of mine to be the most disciplined person I can be in my business. That doesn’t mean I don’t have fun and take things too seriously – far from it! It means that I have the right attitude to stay the course and move forward. Even though this is a goal of mine, I must admit that it’s not always been easy sticking to it. We humans have weaknesses, especially when it comes to discipline. It feels too much like hard work doesn’t it? But it doesn’t have to be. Most of it is about attitude and perception of the meaning of discipline rather than work. Consistency And Discipline Work Together To Improve A Person. One of the main things about consistency and discipline is habit. To have a successful business or life, you need good habits. If you can be a consistent disciplined person in both your work and your pleasure, you can certainly create a lasting habit that will help you be successful. I love music, as you may already know, and to be good at music, you need discipline. I stopped participating in any musical activity for several years, which was a big mistake. This was because I lost the natural discipline and consistency I had when I was taking a more active part in this activity. Did this affect my business and my life? You bet it did! Because the discipline and consistency I needed was just based on “work”, it felt like a chore and I must admit I wavered. A LOT! I had a business fail on me. Yes, it was a job I wasn’t completely happy with and that played its part too. However, when I was doing something I LOVED alongside it, it was a little easier to “stay the course” as it were. Not ideal, but I was working in a disciplined way much more naturally when I was active in music too. My good habit had been broken because I wasn’t as enthusiastic about things. You improve when you have the natural habit of discipline because it also helps you to be more consistent. Consistent action leads to consistent results and ultimately leads to big reward. Discipline And Consistency Needs A Person To Love What They Do. I know many people HATE what they do. Some do love their job and some tolerate it. Doing something you love, whether it’s music or sport or anything else that requires a form of discipline can only help to make the job a little more tolerable. Now imagine doing a job you absolutely love AND be able to have a leisure activity you also love that requires the consistency and discipline you need to grow as a person. Habit is more easily broken than maintained. This is more evident, as in my case, when you stop doing something that really helps you to keep in that habit state. The key to being a naturally disciplined person revolves around good habits. Doing things you love in your life both in work and play will keep you going on the right path and you won’t even have to think about it.
