What is your definition of success?:
Do I consider myself successful? I guess that really depends on how one defines success. Too often I think people allow external measures of success to define them. Do I have a lot of money? Am I leading a life that others would admire? Am I measuring up to cultural expectations of me, of similar people in my position? I’m a middle-class college professor. Am I as successful as others in my field? These are the wrong questions. Better I should ask, how are my family relationships? My connections to friends, to a larger community? Am I leading a mindful life of purpose at home, at work, in the world?
For me, I always come back to Ralph Waldo Emerson’s words: “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” At this point, I’ve learned that a life of happiness and success are not the end goals, but rather the by-products of how we choose to live. Our lives have meaning insofar as we engage positively with others, express gratitude for what we are fortunate to have, and give back in order to make a difference, however small, for the time that is granted to us.
Do you consider yourself successful?:
So, on those terms, I can say that I strive to be successful. I try to live with courage, grace, and humor. I honor my family, I cherish my friends, I try to make a positive difference in the lives of my students and the world they’re about to enter. Sometimes those differences are tiny ones, but you never know when the smallest action of honor and compassion will have a positive result. I try to remember these things as I move through each day.
Sometimes I fail. But sometimes, yes, sometimes I am, indeed, successful.

Alison L. McKee, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Radio-Television Film program (Department of Television-Radio-Film-Theatre) at San Jose State University. She specializes in film history, theory, criticism, and research. A writer, Professor McKee earned a B.A. and M.A in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara and went on to get a Ph.D. in film and media studies at UCLA, focusing particularly on film history, narrative, and gender issues in classical American cinema. She presents regularly at national and international conferences and been invited to speak in the U.S. and abroad on a range of topics related to film, digital media, gender, and emerging technologies. Her work has appeared in numerous national and international journals and books. Among them are McKee's The Woman's Film of the 1940s: Gender, Narrative, and History (Routledge, 2014), “’Think of Me Fondly’: Voice, Body, Affect, and Performance in Prince/Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera.” Studies in Musical Theatre 7:3 2014, and a chapter in New Zealand Cinema: Interpreting the Past (eds. Alistair Fox, Barry Keith Grant, Hilary Radner, Intellect UK/The Chicago of University Press, 2011). McKee is a SJSU Salzburg Fellow (2009-1010) and the recipient of several grants and awards for her writing and work within film, theatre,and literary studies.

Experts consider Kew’s Palm House as the most important surviving Victorian iron and glass structure in the world. The exhibition is based around “The Jungle” - an EXTRACTEUR art format, created to collect data about prejudice and give them an evolutive artistic form. The format also includes academic studying of the collected data in order to understand the anatomy of prejudice. The information collected during the exhibition period is aesthetically forming part of a monumental sculptural artwork, but can at the same time be considered as valuable data for scientific and academic purposes. This doubleness between aesthetics and analytics is the core idea of all EXTRACTEUR formats, developed to analyze the socio-political context of the world we live in through artists lens. By the end of the 5-year long exhibition period, the collected data will consist of a huge number of detections of xenophobia-signs reported by 50.000 active participants.

1.- Efectivamente la modelo se encuentra en el medio del plano, pero no se encuentra de manera rígida, pues los brazos crean una simetría que sale del eje centro/vertical.
2.-Las líneas naturales del cuerpo, crean curvas dando paso a la curva "S"

Kennedy Clan History:
This family originated from Ulster and are descended from Duncan of Carrick who lived in the 12th century. The first mention of the name is that of Gilbert Mac Kennedi who witnessed a Charter from the lands of Carric in the reign of William the Lion.
John Kennedy of Dunure was in situ at Cassilis in 1360 and his son, Sir Gilbert, was a hostage for the release of David II from English custody three years earlier. Gilbert's son James married Princess Mary Stewart, daughter of Robert III, and their son, another Robert, was created Lord Kennedy in 1452. His brother James (1408-65) was Bishop of Dunkeld and Archbishop of St Andrews.
David, 3rd Lord Kennedy, was created Earl of Cassilis in 1502 and died at the Battle of Flodden eleven years later. The 2nd Earl was murdered by Sir Hugh Campbell of Loudon, Sheriff of Ayr, from whom he had unsuccessfully attempted to rescue James V. The 3rd Earl was poisoned in France on his return from the marriage of Mary Queen of Scots to the Dauphin in 1558.
The 6th Earl of Cassilis became Lord Justice General of Scotland and sat in Oliver Cromwell's House of Lords. Following the death of the 8th Earl without an heir, the Cassilis title and Kennedy Chiefship passed to Sir Thomas Kennedy of Culzean. He was succeeded by his brother David in 1775, and it was he who commissioned the architect Robert Adam to build the castle at Culzean.
When the 10th Earl died, the title and estates passed to his kinsman Captain Archibald Kennedy who had acquired estates in New Jersey and become a substantial landowner in New York. Unfortunately, the American War of Independence led to half of his properties being confiscated. The 12th Earl was created Marquess of Ailsa on the Coronation of William IV. In 1945, the 5th Marquess presented Culzean Castle to the National Trust for Scotland.
Branches of the Kennedy Family were also active in the north of Scotland. The Kennedys of Kermuck were Constables of Aberdeen in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Clan Ulric found in Lochaber are traditionally said to be descended from a Kennedy who fled to the Highlands following a warrant for his arrest.
Kate Kennedy, a niece of Bishop Kennedy of St Andrews is said to be the inspiration behind the student procession held annually at St Andrews University. Lt General Sir Clark Kennedy of Knockgray served in the Peninsular War and fought at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. William Kennedy (1859-1918) became a distinguished military painter.
Places of Interest:
Castle Kennedy, Wigtown, Galloway. Built by the earls of Cassilis in 1607, but passed to the earls of Stair. Destroyed in 1716; replaced 1867 by Lochinch Castle which remains the seat of the Earl of Stair.
Culzean Castle, Ayrshire. A magnificent cliff-top mansion designed by Robert Adam for the 10th Earl of Cassilis on the site of an ancient Kennedy castle. It has been the seat of the Chief of the Kennedys since the 15th century and is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland.
Dunure Castle, near Culzean, Ayrshire. The 4th Earl of Cassilis is said to have roasted the Lay-Abbot of Crossraguel on a spit here in an attempt to make him surrender abbey lands in 1507. Today it is a ruin.
Maybole Castle, Maybole, Ayrshire. Chapel founded by John Kennedy of Dunure in 1371.
Surname distribution in Scotland: The Kennedy name is widespread throughout Scotland with particularly high concentrations of the name in Glasgow City, Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire, Argyll and Bute, Ayrshire, Perth and Kinross (Perthshire and Kinross-shire), Lanarkshire and the Outer Hebrides (the main population centers being Lewis and Harris, North Uist, South Uist, Benbecula and Barra).

Los veranos son relativamente cálidos y húmedos en Ottawa, aunque son por lo general cortos. La temperatura media en verano es de 26,5 °C, aunque es frecuente que se den temperaturas de 30 °C o más. En el verano de 2005, se registró una temperatura máxima de 39,5 °C en algunas zonas. Durante los períodos de altas temperaturas, la elevada humedad del aire es un factor agravante, especialmente cerca de los ríos. El día en que se recibió la mayor cantidad de lluvia fue el 9 de septiembre de 2004, cuando los restos del Huracán Frances descargaron 135 mm de lluvia en la ciudad.[29] Al año hay 2.054 horas de sol de media (47% de las totales).[30]
Los fenómenos meteorológicos destructivos, como tornados, inundaciones, olas de calor, precipitación severa de granizo y remanentes de huracanes son raros, pero todos han ocurrido antes. Algunos de los tornados más notables de la región tuvieron lugar en 1978 (F2), 1994 (F3) y 1999 (F1). El 1 de enero de 2000, se produjo un terremoto de 5,2 grados en la Escala de Richter que afectó a Ottawa.[31] Es muy improbable que en la zona se desaten tornados de fuerza 4 ó 5, como los de las Grandes Llanuras de Estados Unidos, ya que ésta se localiza muy lejos del frente provocado por la interacción de las masas de aire provenientes del golfo de México y de las Rocosas (el que puede producir fuertes tornados más al sur).
El 24 de febrero de 2006, un terremoto de 4,5 grados en la Escala de Richter sacudió Ottawa.[31] De media, se produce un pequeño temblor en la ciudad cada tres años.[32]
Le guanaco (Lama guanicoe ou Lama glama guanicoe si on le considère comme sous-espèce de Lama glama) (du quéchua huanacu, « lama ») est un camélidé sauvage présent en Amérique du Sud. Apparenté au lama, il n'a pas été domestiqué, contrairement à ce dernier. Une étude récente montre que, malgré quelques croisements, le lama, animal domestique, descend du guanaco, animal sauvage, alors que l'alpaga, animal domestique, descend de la vigogne, animal sauvage.
La fourrure du guanaco est uniformément brun roussâtre : son museau, son visage et ses oreilles sont gris noirâtre, tandis que le ventre ou l'intérieur des pattes sont blancs. Certaines zones de ses flancs sont dénudées et permettent de disperser l’excès de chaleur. Sa fourrure est moins épaisse que celles des lamas et des alpagas. Le guanaco a un cou long et mince, une petite tête avec de grosses oreilles et un museau mince avec une lèvre supérieure fissurée. Ils mesurent de 1,10 à 1,20 mètre au garrot (1,60 à 1,80 m de haut à la tête) et de 1,50 à 2,00 mètres en longueur selon les individus. I was hoping I could get the fireworks to show much larger in the lens but it just wasn't to be. And the street light is way too distracting. Overall, I thought about not even posting it but I like to do something for the fourth and this is all I could come up with.
It's too bad my neighbors are cheap and can't buy bigger fireworks. lol
