What we consider the highlight of our Essential Britain tour was the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. I actually took over 1,200 photos during the event but have limited it to about 120 images -- I know it is still a lot, but it was very difficult to get it down to these few images. I hope you enjoy them even though they do not really convey how spectacular it was.
Considerada la peor crisis que ha enfrentado la humanidad en la historia reciente, el Coronavirus, ha impactado no solo la salud de la ciudadanía de la región, sino la economía de los países, en las exportaciones y el comercio, las cuales se han reducido en un 40 %, según estimaciones de diferentes estudios.
Ante este panorama ¿cuál es la situación política de la región y perspectivas para la industria?, ese fue el tema que se abordó en el foro Virtual "Panorama político y económico para la industria de Centroamérica y República Dominicana en el segundo semestre 2020", organizado por La Federación de Cámaras de Industria de Centroamérica y la República Dominicana (FECAICA).
En el Foro participó el Secretario General del SICA, Vinicio Cerezo; expertos en temas económicos de la región Paulo de León, Director de Inteligencia Económica y Financiera en Central American Business Intelligence (CABI), y Gerardo Brenes, profesor y conferencista del INCAE Business School y en LEAD University, quienes se refirieron a la situación económica de los países miembros del SICA y lo que se prevé para los próximos seis meses.
El Foro dio a conocer a la industria de la región sobre el panorama político y económico actual en el contexto del COVID-19, y conocer la percepción por país de los miembros del Consejo Directivo de la Federación ante esta situación; en ese sentido, participó un panel por parte del Consejo Directivo de FECAICA.
El Secretario General del SICA, Vinicio Cerezo, consideró importante este espacio porque permite poner en perspectiva la enorme responsabilidad del sector público y privado para trabajar de forma conjunta en el diseño de soluciones innovadoras para hacer frente a la crisis, poniendo en un justo equilibrio la salud y la economía de los países miembros del SICA.
Además, destacó que una de las primeras acciones realizadas como región fue el diseño y aprobación del Plan de Contingencia Regional del SICA, con un fondo de USD$1,900 millones, como resultado de la primera reunión que se tuvo entre los Presidentes de la región en este contexto en donde se adoptó la adoptó la Declaración Centroamérica Unida Contra el Coronavirus; y de las cuales han derivado más acciones integrales que complementan las iniciativas que ya ejecutan los países miembros del SICA, y que cuentan con el apoyo y respaldo de la institucionalidad del SICA, de las instituciones de gobierno y de Socios para el Desarrollo.
De acuerdo con Eduardo Girón, presidente de FECAICA, ante este panorama, el sector privado debe saber qué está pasando en la región y conocer cuáles han sido las mejores prácticas y los mejores resultados.
“Integrarnos como región, no solo en temas económicos y de comercio, sino en temas de seguridad, de lucha contra la pobreza y el hambre, es lo que se ha buscado desde un inicio, que podamos afrontar cualquier problema venidero con mayor fortaleza de una forma más sincronizada que ponga en primer lugar el bienestar regional”, aseguró Girón.
Perspectivas económicas del impacto a causa del COVID-19
Sobre las perspectivas del impacto económico de la Pandemia, Paulo De León aseguró que, según datos del mercado, se tiene una visión bastante optimista de los especuladores y analistas de bolsa en el tema de la recuperación. “Latinoamérica solo ha recuperado menos del 50 % de las pérdidas, es decir que esta región se recupera más lento y menos que Estados Unidos, y tiene que ver con la debilidad institucional y por lo tanto no vendrá del mismo nivel la recuperación económica”.

Considerada como una de las ermitas de mayor valor artístico de la Comarca de los Pedroches. Su estilo se puede encuadrar en la transición del románico al gótico.
En su ella se venera la Patrona, la Santísima Virgen de Guía.
Su origen no están claros fue un convento-fortaleza de los Templarios, ya que sus características arquitectónicas son similares a las de otros monasterios, como el de San Pedro de Cardeña o San Bernardo.
Aunque se desconoce la fecha exacta de su construcción, el templo primitivo data de los siglos XII – XIII constando en su origen, de una sola nave, a la que, en el siglo XVII, se le añaden las naves laterales.
Las tres naves aparecen separadas por tres arcos apuntados cada una, los cuales descansan sobre gruesas columnas de fuste cilíndrico, cuyos capiteles son ochavados y sus basas son de sección octogonal y base cuadrada.
Considero que ésta fotografía tiene una mezcla justa entre 4 reglas de composición.
1.- Efectivamente la modelo se encuentra en el medio del plano, pero no se encuentra de manera rígida, pues los brazos crean una simetría que sale del eje centro/vertical.
2.-Las líneas naturales del cuerpo, crean curvas dando paso a la curva "S"
3.- Al utilizar los colores complementarios rojo/verde, creé un balance que dirige la mirada hacia el rostro de la modelo y que resulta siendo el Centro de Interés
4.- En ésta composición abundan líneas de dirección tanto en los espejos, como en los azulejos de la pared que dan énfasis en la modelo

Kennedy Clan History:
This family originated from Ulster and are descended from Duncan of Carrick who lived in the 12th century. The first mention of the name is that of Gilbert Mac Kennedi who witnessed a Charter from the lands of Carric in the reign of William the Lion.
John Kennedy of Dunure was in situ at Cassilis in 1360 and his son, Sir Gilbert, was a hostage for the release of David II from English custody three years earlier. Gilbert's son James married Princess Mary Stewart, daughter of Robert III, and their son, another Robert, was created Lord Kennedy in 1452. His brother James (1408-65) was Bishop of Dunkeld and Archbishop of St Andrews.
David, 3rd Lord Kennedy, was created Earl of Cassilis in 1502 and died at the Battle of Flodden eleven years later. The 2nd Earl was murdered by Sir Hugh Campbell of Loudon, Sheriff of Ayr, from whom he had unsuccessfully attempted to rescue James V. The 3rd Earl was poisoned in France on his return from the marriage of Mary Queen of Scots to the Dauphin in 1558.
The 6th Earl of Cassilis became Lord Justice General of Scotland and sat in Oliver Cromwell's House of Lords. Following the death of the 8th Earl without an heir, the Cassilis title and Kennedy Chiefship passed to Sir Thomas Kennedy of Culzean. He was succeeded by his brother David in 1775, and it was he who commissioned the architect Robert Adam to build the castle at Culzean.
When the 10th Earl died, the title and estates passed to his kinsman Captain Archibald Kennedy who had acquired estates in New Jersey and become a substantial landowner in New York. Unfortunately, the American War of Independence led to half of his properties being confiscated. The 12th Earl was created Marquess of Ailsa on the Coronation of William IV. In 1945, the 5th Marquess presented Culzean Castle to the National Trust for Scotland.
Branches of the Kennedy Family were also active in the north of Scotland. The Kennedys of Kermuck were Constables of Aberdeen in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Clan Ulric found in Lochaber are traditionally said to be descended from a Kennedy who fled to the Highlands following a warrant for his arrest.
Kate Kennedy, a niece of Bishop Kennedy of St Andrews is said to be the inspiration behind the student procession held annually at St Andrews University. Lt General Sir Clark Kennedy of Knockgray served in the Peninsular War and fought at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. William Kennedy (1859-1918) became a distinguished military painter.
Places of Interest:
Castle Kennedy, Wigtown, Galloway. Built by the earls of Cassilis in 1607, but passed to the earls of Stair. Destroyed in 1716; replaced 1867 by Lochinch Castle which remains the seat of the Earl of Stair.
Culzean Castle, Ayrshire. A magnificent cliff-top mansion designed by Robert Adam for the 10th Earl of Cassilis on the site of an ancient Kennedy castle. It has been the seat of the Chief of the Kennedys since the 15th century and is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland.
Dunure Castle, near Culzean, Ayrshire. The 4th Earl of Cassilis is said to have roasted the Lay-Abbot of Crossraguel on a spit here in an attempt to make him surrender abbey lands in 1507. Today it is a ruin.
Maybole Castle, Maybole, Ayrshire. Chapel founded by John Kennedy of Dunure in 1371.
Surname distribution in Scotland: The Kennedy name is widespread throughout Scotland with particularly high concentrations of the name in Glasgow City, Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire, Argyll and Bute, Ayrshire, Perth and Kinross (Perthshire and Kinross-shire), Lanarkshire and the Outer Hebrides (the main population centers being Lewis and Harris, North Uist, South Uist, Benbecula and Barra).
