Anna just liked the name of this town. We got a few okay photos, but overall, it really wasn't worth stopping (apologies to anyone who lives there or loves it there).
The mask had been placed on a stand made from skulls. The walls are inscribed with praises to the art of thievery. The ritual circle in the center points to something other than just the storage of an artifact. The whole layout of the room is weird.
Nimue comes to a conclusion: "This place is like an echo-chamber, resonating with the energies of this item. I am also quite sure, that this chamber and the ritual circle draws energy away from the item to power something else."
Helm cannot say, if the other chambers are the same. "Only the pope knows what they look like. Some of the contraptions in place here are older than the abbey in its current state and may have served other, possibly more sinister purposes in the past, but these days I do not thing there is need for worry in that regard."
Nimue is not so sure. She inquires about Ilmeth, who, as Helm believes, is not happy with the abbey, because his bloodline is supposed to be the rightful defender of this dale, appointed by the mantled king himself. She also inquires about Tempus, and learns, that she indeed attacked the pope over the sword. She was not exiled, however, but imprisoned. Someone set her free, though.
So apart from Kerrick, whom the heroes do not present as a suspsect at all, they open up the field for suspicions from other sides, from Ilmeth, to Tempus, to agents of the false mantled king. But Helm also has his own suspicions:
"I have seen what happened to the high Inquisitor. I am not convinced he was corrupted." (He might be right there. While Nimue wants to believe, that this was the case, there are no clear evidence of his corruption. We might have destroyed an organisation rightfully opposing evil.) "I do not believe that this was your doing either, but you seem to be haunted by demonic influences."
Nimue would not deny this. "You might be right. I forsake the influence of a demon when I joined this group, and thus destroyed a ritual. We have seen and destroyed demonic flesh tunnels in the underground, and we do not know what demonic entity is behind that. Just do not blame this on us. We oppose these demons wherever we face them."
She doesn't mention Pazuzu. It's for the best.
Before the group leaves, Shiel urges Helm to have the other chambers checked and ensure everything is there. There is a plan behind this: If he has the chance to see the other chambers, the heroes might draw conclusions from that regarding the purpose of these chambers. If they all work the same way as this one, they could be powering a mighty ritual or artifact.
On the way back, Thana reveals to Nimue Kerrick's involvement. Nimue isn't surprised.
"So, he opened up to you."
"You have known about this?"
"For a while. I know a bit about the price of cutting yourself lose from a demonic influence, and was waiting for him to admit his problems."
"Best let's not involve Shiel yet."
"In nature there are no rewards or punishments. There are consequences."

Leading Lives of Consequence

Sat in garden at midnight in teashirt and shorts in the mildest of weather conditions looking at the sky.
It suddenly reminded me of my youth when 10cc was one of my favourite bands and when they split up Godley & Crème made an album called "Consequences.
This is close to the picture on the cover of the album.

It has been 1,067 days since Russia invaded Ukraine – the war continues – normality does not settle in – yet life goes on amidst the war, its consequences, and its losses.
The road in front of our house was just repaved the other day. The shiny new asphalt is much smoother to drive on, but the process took an entire day and the air was filled with the stench of tar well into the evening.
Today when I was walking across the new paving to the park, I noticed this leaf. To me, it is a reminder that the actions we take involving the Earth have consequences.
I'm not against the repaving; the potholes turned into small lakes during the rainy season. But I think it's a good idea never to forget that nature will always be affected by what we do, and not always in good ways.
Seeing this leaf was disconcerting for me, just a small reminder that we so often do what we will with the world without considering what the consequences may be. Sometimes these consequences are immediately devastating, like the recent BP oil spill; sometimes, they're latent and add up, like the accumulation of wasted money and destroyed trees that comes when people don't recycle. Some may be more drastic and in need of immediate attention than others, but all play a part in how healthy our home is.
I once saw a quote that said something like this: "Earth is the only home we have." Sometimes, we seem to forget that. Let's do our best not to.

The consequences of me trying to climb into an abandon building to take some pictures. I got a cut on my finger, and big scratches on both of my forearms. I didn't even feel it. It's all good.
•Conducting awareness campaigns on consequence of drink driving in colonies through Posters, Leaflets, Banners, Street Plays and Public Meetings.
•Involve special interest groups like traffic police, leaders of community-based organizations, religious and political leaders of the area and management of private sector enterprises where they work.
•Besides the awareness campaigns, we put high quality reflectors on all NMVs in these colonies covering approximately 6,000 NMVs in both the colonies. This would be an incentive to the NMV users for listening to us. It would first of its kind activity where all NMVs of these colonies are covered.
•Propagate the media agencies to highlight these campaigns as only residents of these two colonies would standout like fireflies when on the road.
In this Lenten season we should remember that our sins have consequences. The most obvious of course is that Jesus died on the Cross so we could be saved from the consequences of our sins.
But sin also causes others to suffer. The woman who was weeping over the death of an innocent, Jesus, suffered due to our sins. Similarly our sinful actions hurt others in this world.
Use Lent as a time to strive to conform your life to Gods.
