To sum it up in words, that look is me totally loving the fact that I can ask my kids to come up with consequences for their bad actions and they come up with punishments way worse than I could ever imagine up.
For this brainstorming session, the entire class had to discuss consequences for becoming lazy in Math. Long story short, they are coming to the part of the year where they get to comfortable and start getting lazy. Funny thing is, the one that I ended up picking for them was the same as mine only more expensive.

I had no stress or no need to get angry with them. Explained the problem to them, they found consequences and that was that. I have had this one the board the past two days to remind them about it and because I still can't get over what they came up with. Sooooo hard on themselves!

On recent visits to Southampton's Mayflower Park to view cruise ships, I have noted several vehicles parked on this stretch of pavement opposite 101 berth. The pavement is clearly delineated as such and the park has adequate parking in marked spaces.
Goodness only knows what happened here but one might reasonably surmise that a vehicle, which should not have been there anyway, damaged the railings which, happily, were robust enough to prevent it from entering the water.

Taken 21/07/23; the consequence of delaying planting the half hardy annuals and not heating the greenhouse, due to the cost of electricity, means the garden is well behind schedule.
With carnations and pinks, so far, it seems I have mastered propagation and keeping them alive, but not getting them to flower!

The Documentation Center Nazi Party Rallying Grounds (German: Dokumentationszentrum Reichsparteitagsgelände) is a museum in Nuremberg. Somewhere between Okmulgee and Tulsa, the rain got so bad I couldn't see more than 15 feet in front of me. I should have stopped at the no-name fuel station in Preston, but I trudged ahead anyway. About a quarter mile south of 271st street (wherever the hell that is), I hydroplaned.
Turning into the skid, I was able to regain control of the truck and bring it to a stop, avoiding hitting the guardrail and the dirt embankment off the shoulder of the road. Unfortunately, where I brought the vehicle to rest was in a puddle of thick Oklahoma mud. I sat here for over an hour waiting for someone from AAA to pull me out.
The tow truck driver looked like someone who was kicked out of ZZ Top. I should have photographed him, but it was pouring buckets. When I was back on the road, I felt like I'd gone swimming with my clothes on.
Within the era of scientifically accepted 'we are the cause of climate change and global warming' and its inevitable consequences, can we afford new and further exploitation of fossil fuels?

Currently Wales and the UK are awash with a tied of new fossil fuel exploitation, shale gas, coal bed methane and new open cast coal mines. So often cited as bridging too renewables, or replacing imported fossil fuels.

All of this new fossil fuel development will bridge to renewables, pay for it, not distract from it? Does our governance seem like they are leading the way to mitigating climate change, are we a shinning example to others countries to follow suit?
Doesn't a global bullet need to be bitten within a short time scale, or is the bullet simply being deflecting for future generations to deal with, and its real impact?

most of the day so we snuck out near sunset to get this shot.
Consequences Drug Use
* The annual economic cost of substance abuse to the U.S. economy is estimated at over $414 billion.1
* There are more deaths, illness, and disabilities from substance abuse than from any other preventable health condition. One in four deaths is attributable to alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use.1
* At least half of adults arrested for major crimes — including homicide, theft, and assault — tested positive for drugs at the time of their arrest. Among those convicted of violent crimes, approximately half of state prisons inmates and 40% of federal prisoners had been drinking or taking drugs at the time of their offense.1
* Of newly diagnosed HIV cases in the U.S. 32% occur among injecting drug users or people who have had sexual contact with theme.1
* Among full-time workers, heavy drinkers and illicit drug users are more likely than those who do not drink heavily or use illicit drugs to have skipped work in the past month or have worked for three or more employers in the past year.1
* Alcohol and drug abuse are factors in the placement of more than 75% of children entering foster care.1
* Drug-related deaths have more than doubled since the early 1980s.2
* More than one-third of all AIDS deaths in the United States have occurred among injecting drug users and their sexual partners. AIDS among this group is a major cause of illicit drug-related deaths, with a disproportionate impact on minority Americans.1
