“It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.”

Sir Edmund Hillary

I really miss Florida weather! :)

i'll be visiting today the places where I took my autumn shots. A little bit late for my winter shots :)

Have a Great Weekend!

The full quote from the Roman poet Virgil's Eclogues X, 69 dated to 38 BCE is 'omnia vincit amor et nos cedars amori' or 'love conquers all; let us too, yield to love!' A passionate declaration that speaks to us across the centuries and is sure to inspire the adventurous.

It's FANTASY FAIR TIME!

“Never say that you can't do something, or that something seems impossible, or that something can't be done, no matter how discouraging or harrowing it may be; human beings are limited only by what we allow ourselves to be limited by: our own minds. We are each the masters of our own reality; when we become self-aware to this: absolutely anything in the world is possible.

Master yourself, and become king of the world around you. Let no odds, chastisement, exile, doubt, fear, or ANY mental virii prevent you from accomplishing your dreams. Never be a victim of life; be it's conqueror.”

I took a couple of days off during a February winter outbreak, which is a rarity in Poland these days. It was a great opportunity to witness how winter gradually conquered the sea.

Le phare

Il a toujours été là

Comme érigé par les vents

Pour qu’il puisse être ce mât

Enchassé dans l’océan

Et même si des carcasses gisent

Comme des monstres de fer crevés

Au pied de ces tempes grises

Faites de sel sur les rochers

Il a l’oeil sur les ressacs

Colosse au squelette de pierre

Combien d’Ulysse loin d’Ithaque

Lui doivent leur retour à terre

Dans les abimes de la nuit

Sur l’incertitude des heures

Quand le soir se sait promis

Aux égarements des douleurs

Quand la colère des flots fume

Et qu’elle déchire les récifs

Que des écharpes de brumes

S’enroulent à son corps massif

Il tend son flanc souverain

Aux torpeurs enivrantes

Affilé par les embruns

Et leurs étreintes conquérantes

Sur l’autel de ses écumes

Dans l’orgie de ses reflux

Quand sous ses quartiers de lune

La peur déroule ses affûts

Il émerge de cette attente

Epuisé par les aguets

Et les craintes de ces tourmentes

Qui menacent de leurs ivraies

Ce n’est que dans les aurores

Qu’il détend son col de nuit

Puis renaît de ses efforts

Et de ces scènes d’agonies

Someone once told me always live for the little things in life.

Live for 5 am sunrise and 5 pm sunsets

where you’ll see the colours in the sky

that don’t usually belong.

Live for the road trips and bike rides

with music in your ears and

the wind in your hair.

Live for the day when you’re surrounded

by your favourite people who make you realise

that the world is not a

cold harsh place.

Live for the little things because

they will make you realise that this is what life is about

this is what means to be

alive.

Captivating, entertaining, catchy songs brilliantly delivered with Ruarri Joseph’s languid style, superbly backed by Naomi Holmes on bass and Harry Harding on drums.

Performed at Café Thirty8, Marlborough, organised by Sound Knowledge record shop.

We made it to the top of the seventh tier of waterfalls at Erawan. In truth though the most impressive thing about this tier was the sign!

I was scrubbing the archives today and this previously overlooked photo surfaced.

Centuries ago ruled here tides and the people were dependent on the whims of nature. The current landscape still shows the traces.

Overwonnen op de zee

Eeuwen geleden heersten hier eb en vloed en waren de mensen afhankelijk van de grillen van de natuur.

Het huidige landschap laat nog steeds de sporen ervan zien.

A curious Vixen, checking out the top of this dry stone pier.

A lovely surprise encounter.
