The assignment is to program four different two-way radios with the same 3 channels so they can use a basic system and talk with one another. Easy, right? By the way, this was done for "fun." I don't make any money from this.
On this screen capture, we show how four different software packages let us configure one channel of the three: 462.725 MHz analog with a Digital Coded Squelch (DCS) of 223.
First, notice the same DCS is called "223" by three applications and "D223N" by the fourth.
Also, all four radios have different transmitter power outputs. One puts out 110 watts. Two are 100 watts. The fourth is 35 watts. The user's license allows them to transmit up to 50 watts. So the three ~100 watt radios need to be calmed down. One allows a menu choice of either 110 watts or 10 watts. So it needs to be set to 10 watts. The other two are set to low power: 30 and 35 watts respectively. The fourth is set to run wide-open throttle at 35 watts.
Now, imagine you're programming an ambulance radio with 104 channels that ties in with eight different systems. The only way you can possibly get that much stuff right is to have a back and forth with the customer to see how they use the equipment, what they need, and expect. Then, several people with different experience and backgrounds must proofread your plan. You also need to test.
Once, I was asked to proofread channels for a under-construction system with about 70 channels. I found a catastrophic problem. My boss tells me, "Go tell the chief systems engineer." The chief's face turns red and he begins shaking. Everyone in the office heard him yell, "The consultant we paid [tens of thousands of dollars] to figure this out thinks it's ok!" English translation: "go away, Chuck." I knew the consultant. They were the best available talent but they made a rare mistake.

Combi's are aircraft that are configured to be half cargo and half passengers. The cargo takes up the front half of the aircraft and is the lifeline to many of the remote communities in Alaska. In the rear passenger section of the aircraft I think there are roughly 76 or so seats, which puts it at about the same capacity as some regional jets in the lower 48.

G. H. Residence was conceived less as a house, but more as an extension and outgrowth of the limestone and aquifers of the Central Texas geography. The roof structure is configured so as to create a natural basin for the collection of rainwater, not unlike the vernal pools found in the outcroppings of Enchanted Rock. These basins harness additional natural flows through the use of photovoltaic and solar hot-water panels. The water, electricity and heat which are harvested on the roof tie into an extensive climate conditioning system which utilizes water source heat pumps and radiant loops to supply both the heating and cooling for the residence. The climate system is connected to geothermal ground loops as well as pools and water features thereby establishing a system of heat exchange which minimizes reliance on electricity or gas.
The primary formal gesture of the project inserts two long native limestone walls into the site. The walls serve as the boundary demarking domesticated space with the vegetation outbound of these walls being native while the interior spaces are more lush and tropical. The program of the residence is configured along the stone walls each of which serves as the spine for the public and private wings, respectively. The offset between the main wings establish an exterior courtyard which will serve as an extended living space for much of the year. The siting of the boundary walls and building elements was informed by the presence and preservation of three mature native oaks. The house enjoys close proximity to both Emma Long Metro Park and
West Bull Creek Preserve.

An interesting one, a rare BBJ Combi with full cargo door and interchangeable VIP and/or cargo interior. It can be configured for J36 with 2 conference tables, J60, PY90 or full cargo. With the bankruptcy of iAero, their customers have been forced to seek alternates for the remainder of the NHL season, this one carrying the Arizona Coyotes from BFI. This will be our last opportunity of the regular season with the final home games being the Calgary Flames who use AC. We will have to see who the Canucks get in the playoffs to see if we get any more visits, but it would seem likely they will be the replacement for the 24/25 season too with SwiftAir being in their history. They have three regular 700's too.

Hillwood started out as a bizjet operator ATX Air Services with a part 125 certificate, then re-branded Hillwood as part 121 carrier from Jul 2017. Eastern Airlines bought Hillwood in Aug 2023 and re-branded the merged company Eastern Air Express in Nov. Eastern themselves was a re-launch of the original of 1926-1991 vintage and were bought by SwiftAir, who long story short merged operations with Dynamic Air who were a sister carrier with a common co-owner to preserve the Eastern trademark and brand. The Eastern brand was used again to re-brand Dynamic after exit from bankruptcy as a sister airline to SwiftAir and operate 15 widebodies. SwiftAir re-branded i-Aero Airways in May 2019 after purchase by iAero Group and entered chapter 11 protection in Sep 2023 and finally ceased all operations last week.
Here I'm trying to configure a rear spoiler. I want it to be functional (reducing rear lift), yet fairly inconspicuous. It'll be from aluminum most likely, and either yellow or black.

Pretty soon I won't be able to point at these LED displays and say, "I did that." Right now they're running firmware that I wrote in 2016 to talk to 3G and 3GPP networks, and now that we're in 2022 the 3G networks are shutting down. The vendor (my former employer) has promised some LCD signs to replace them, but ... supply-chain issues.
Not my problem (my ex-boss said this a lot) anymore.
Even when I wrote the firmware, I wondered how long it was going to last, because 4G was already a thing and the modems seemed to be an afterthought of the vendor who'd acquired them. In computer-speak, they didn't support enough AT modem commands and I had to work around that. One work-around is a hard reboot of the signs 3 times a day, where you can get a brief glimpse of the firmware version, the day I compiled it, and, "Configuring..."
I busted my butt to get these working before the 2G shutdown, and despite workplace dysfunction and even some shady dealing, my team and I succeeded. But it turns out that nobody had worked out upgrading the GPS trackers on the vehicles, so my signs were working in 2017 but they didn't have realtime information to display. D'oh!
Not my problem anymore.

Some new and re-configured jewelry created for my Etsy shop in early September, 2012.
These necklaces feature what I call "Watercolor Beads"- I hand shape a bead out of properly conditioned polymer clay, cure it in the oven, sand it and smooth it. After all of that, I dye/paint the surface of the bead with a mix of inks, dyes, and liquid paints and then coat it with several coats of Varathane to make it colorfast and weatherproof.

and I decided to try and make it. Mine is far from perfect but it's not bad for going on what I could find of pictures online. The middle stripe is a piece of a placemat from some designer that eunice likes. The bag has two zippered pockets and can be configured to be a longer bag or a shorter bag by moving the strap to a different set of d-rings.
I have learned that zippers are a buttload of trouble to do properly. :)

The unusually configured, Pander S.4, PH-OST, was crewed by (left to right) Mr Pronk, G.J. Geysendorffer, ex K.L.M. chief test pilot, and Mr Asjes and was to finish it's participation in the 1934 MacRobertson Air race at Allahabad, Iraq when it suffered a ground collision and burnt out.

A visit to the "Musée de la Civilisation Gallo-Romaine", Lyon, France, on October 27, 2022, accompanied by my SLR Miranda Auto Sensorex EE.
The camera was loaded with a CineStill 400 Dynamic (400D) and configured with the loupe finder X5 and x15 and its normal lens Auto Miranda E 1:1.8 f=50 mm fitting original Miranda 52mm Skylight filter.
The film was exposed for 400 ISO following the readings of the camera (measuring mode "S") or a Minolta Autometer III fitted with a 10° finder. Indoor exposures were hand-held typically at 1/30s and full aperture. The film was then developed using a local C-41 development local service.

After process the film was digitalized using a Sony A7 body and a Minolta Slide Duplicator with a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5.

About the camera :
This camera was initially sold out on March 15, 1972 to a first customer in Abbeville, France, and resold as a second hand by "Photo Ciné Saint Lazare", Paris, France one year later at spring 1973.
The camera was sold to me in March 2022 with the three finders available, three lenses Miranda Auto E, 1:1.8 f=50 mm, 1:2.8 f=28 mm, 1:2.8 f=105 mm all equipped with Miranda Skylight 52 mm filters.
EE stands for "Electric Eye", a system of diaphragm automated by the circuitry operating two CdS cells located behind the reflex mirror and making the photometry independent of the finders. The Miranda EE has two measuring mode : the pondered A (A as "Ambiant") and the S (spot) with the possibility to "memorize" the light value standing the release button at mid course as on modern camera's. the whole photometric system is fully functional on this camera and gives reading similar to a trusted external silicium electronic photometer (Minolta Auto Meter III).
09-0046 is configured slightly different to the other four airframes on strength, as it lacks some of the aerials on the upper rear fuselage that they possess. 'Knife 75' had loaded up with a load of para jumpers and was heading out to the old disused airfield at Sculthorpe, which has become their most frequent training area in the short time they've been here.
