The proposal for an adaptive housing project and its chosen location arose from two obstacles that all modern cities, and the world as a whole, face. The urban environment is revered for its cultural amalgam of people and wide range of demographics; however with this density and diversity comes a shortage of one type or another of commodious housing. Additionally and consequentially, the city must expand and build new buildings, leaving older, unsuitable building vacant. An adaptive architecture would allow families to grow and demographics to shift within the established community, all the while reinvigorating that second obstacle the city and the world is facing today - the disconnect from our natural world. Adaptable housing that also displays its adaptive forces in its form and texture, as responses to environmental conditions, would raise public awareness of the forgotten lessons that nature has to teach our modern society.
This video describes how this single unit can be transformed into various configurations, through the use of floor panels and an accordion wall system.

Configuration 1- (Standard) Two rear quarter seats with storage underneath. Notice the seatback and cushion are easily removed when not in use. This would be an excellent location for casting off the stern. Both hatches are finished in non-skid for added safety.

This is the configuration I used to do the 165 second stability test of the Joby Gorillapod SLR_Zoom, with the camera in vertical position. Notice that the leg on the left is curled, so it touches the ground and goes back up to support the outside edge of the camera. It felt solid and safe, and took about 15 seconds to configure.
I used this configuration because the Gorillapod was difficult to configure in the traditional stance, with three (kind of) straightened legs; It took 90 seconds to configure, and did not feel safe and steady… however, I was able to get a 2 minute exposure without any blur.
I was also able to use vertical orientation with good results by removing the ballhead and Z-Finder bracket, But, I still prefer wrapping the leg up so it supports the camera body, even though the camera is an inch or two closer to the ground.
The tripod is rated to hold a camera that weighs 3 kg (6.6 lbs.). This is a Canon 5D mark II, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens, and the mounting bracket for a Zacuto Z-Finder Pro 3x. Total weight; about 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). The Z-finder bracket added about 30 g, and put the camera farther from the center of gravity of the Gorillapod, but, I wanted a worst-case-scenario.
