Two of four rock configurations at the main garden of Mirei Shigemori's house. Shigemori (1896–1975) is one of the most important and influential garden designers of modern Japan, and his former residence, a hose dating back to 1789 just a few blocks from the University of Kyoto, is a thing to see. Here's a very short set of photos on Shigemori's House; you can also take a look to the Shigemori House website.

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a British breed of toy dog of spaniel type. Four colours are recognised: Blenheim (chestnut and white), tricolour (black/white/tan), black and tan, and ruby; the coat is smooth and silky.[2] The lifespan is usually between eight and twelve years.[1]
The Cavalier King Charles changed dramatically in the late seventeenth century, when it was inter-bred with flat-nosed breeds. Until the 1920s, it shared the same history as the smaller King Charles Spaniel. Breeders attempted to recreate what they considered to be the original configuration – a dog resembling Charles II's spaniel of the English Civil War period, when supporters of the king were known as Cavaliers.[3][4]
History
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; lesser stop; skull not inclined to be domed with spot in centre of skull on the Blenheim. A white blaze between the eyes is standard of the Tricolour variety.
Correct Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; uniform chestnut colour, with no white markings; ears and slippers are often slightly lighter but dark chestnut colour should predominate
During the early part of the 18th century, John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, kept red and white King Charles type spaniels for hunting. The duke recorded that they were able to keep up with a trotting horse. His estate was named Blenheim in honour of his victory at the Battle of Blenheim. Because of this influence, the red and white variety of the King Charles Spaniel and thus the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel became known as the Blenheim.[5]
Attempts were made to recreate the original Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as early as the turn of the 20th century, using the now extinct Toy Trawler Spaniels. These attempts were documented by Judith Blunt-Lytton, 16th Baroness Wentworth, in the book "Toy Dogs and Their Ancestors Including the History And Management of Toy Spaniels, Pekingese, Japanese and Pomeranians" published under the name of the "Hon. Mrs Neville Lytton" in 1911.[6]
Divergence from King Charles Spaniel
In 1926, the American Roswell Eldridge offered a dog show class prize of 25 pounds of sterling silver each as a prize for the best male and females of "Blenheim Spaniels of the old type, as shown in pictures of Charles II of England's time, long face, no stop, flat skull, not inclined to be domed, with spot in centre of skull."[7] The breeders of the era were appalled, although several entered what they considered to be sub-par Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in the competition. Eldridge died before seeing his plan come to fruition, but several breeders believed in what he said and in 1928 the first Cavalier club was formed.[7] The first standard was created, based on a dog named "Ann's Son" owned by Mostyn Walker,[8] and the Kennel Club recognised the variety as "King Charles Spaniels, Cavalier type".[7]
The Second World War caused a drastic setback to the emerging breed, with the vast majority of breeding stock destroyed because of wartime hardship and food shortages. For instance, in the Ttiweh Cavalier Kennel, the population of 60 dogs dropped to three during the 1940s.[9] Following the war, few dogs survived as the new beginning from which all present-day Cavaliers descend. And in 1945,[10] the Kennel Club first recognised the breed in its own right as the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.[7]
The first recorded Cavalier living in the United States was brought from the United Kingdom in 1956 by W. Lyon Brown who, together with Elizabeth Spalding and other enthusiasts, founded the Cavalier King Charles Club USA that continues to the present day. In 1994, the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club was created by a group of breeders to apply for recognition by the American Kennel Club. It was recognised by the American Kennel Club in 1995,[2] and the ACKCSC became the parent club for Cavaliers.[11] Since 2000, it has grown in popularity in the United States and ranks as the 15th most popular pure-breed in the United States.[12]
Description
"The purebred Black and Tan uniform."
A purebred Black and Tan uniform.
Historically the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was a lap dog and is small for a spaniel, with fully grown adults comparable in size to adolescents of other larger spaniel breeds. The tail is usually not docked,[13] and the Cavalier should have a silky coat of moderate length. Standards state that it should be free from curl, although a slight wave is allowed. Feathering can grow on their ears, feet, legs and tail in adulthood. Standards require this be kept long, with the feathering on the feet a particularly important aspect of the breed's features.[13]
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the English Toy Spaniel can often be confused with each other. In the United Kingdom, the English Toy Spaniel is called the King Charles Spaniel, while in the United States, one of the colours of the Toy Spaniel is known as King Charles. The two breeds share similar history and only diverged from each other about 100 years ago.[citation needed] There are several major differences between the two breeds, with the primary difference being size. While the Cavalier weighs on average between 13 and 18 pounds (5.9 and 8.2 kg), the King Charles is smaller at 9 to 15 pounds (4.1 to 6.8 kg). In addition, their facial features, while similar, are different; the Cavalier's ears are set higher and its skull is flat, while the King Charles's skull is domed. Finally, the muzzle length of the Cavalier tends to be longer than that of its King Charles cousin.[7][14]

Tricolour Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

The breed has four recognized colours. Cavaliers that have rich chestnut markings on a pearly white background are known as Blenheim in honor of Blenheim Palace, where John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough raised for assistance in hunting the predecessors to the Cavalier breed in this particular colour. In some Blenheim dogs there is a chestnut spot in the middle of the forehead: this is called the "Blenheim" spot.[15] The Blenheim spot is also known as the mark of the "Duchess Thumb Print", based on the legend that Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough while awaiting news of her husband's safe return from the Battle of Blenheim, pressed the head of an expecting dam with her thumb, resulting in five puppies bearing the lucky mark after news that the battle had been won.[16]
Black and Tan are dogs with black bodies with tan highlights, particularly eyebrows, cheeks, legs and beneath the tail.[17] Black and Tan is referred to as "King Charles" in the King Charles Spaniel.[7] Wikipedia
The class 308 units were introduced in 1961 and fell into four sub classes catering for different formations or configuration within the class. By far the smallest batch were the Class 308/3 sets which were 3-car units as opposed to standard 4-car sets and were numbered 308 453 to 308 455. They were ideally suited to the branch shuttle between Thorpe-le-Soken and Walton-on-Naze as 3-cars were more than adequate for this branch. They had originally been built to supplement the class 305 suburban fleet which also had the same English Electric power control equipment.
Here set 308 453 is seen at Walton-on-Naze soon after arrival with train 2B34 the 12.59 from Thorpe-le-Soken. It will return to Thorpe-le-Soken as service 2B39 at 13.37. By this date the unit only had another six months in service being withdrawn in February 1986 and broken up at Mayer-Newman's Ltd, Snailwell in March 1986.

Had this one done a while, I've different weapons configurations I'm still swapping around and working on so I'm sure there will be updates and additions to the design later on. This will go nicely next to my Huey and Cayuse in future photos. I might update this photo later with a better photo.
Again dark green was tough to build with at this scale but that's the challenge I guess. Pilots doors open out same as the real thing in opposite ways and i can't recal anybody else doing something like this on a Lego canopy. Glad I managed to get the Cav markings in on the tail as it's those details I enjoy the most and ties this in nicely with my old M113 APC where I first used it years ago.
I encourage others to try out building some Nam models as there are some really cool vehicles/boats and aircraft.
I'm going to start adding lists of songs listened to when building particular models, not on loop but quite often.
The Rolling Stones- Paint it Black
The Rolling Stones- Gimme Shelter
Johnny Cash- The man comes around
Credence Clearwater Revival-Bad moon rising.
The configuration is not Kessie's. The shape of her back/shoulder doesn't look right. Could this be a different female American Kestrel (Falco sparverius)? In the old birch snag on the east side of Thomson Brook, Kelowna, BC.
For those wondering, yes, I removed (digitally) the diagonal 'prong' that is shown in the older photo below in order to simplify the photo.
There's maybe a handful of operations at best that can sport a pair of GP9s running nose to nose as was so common in the post steam era, but the Ashland Railway is one of them. Willard to Ashland train WT-1 heads south through Shelby, OH with its pair of former PRR GP9s providing the power. In the background is the old Shelby Municipal Power Plant, which at one time was a locally owned coal fired plant that supplied 2/3 of the city with electricity.

Imbrium Lunokhod Industries Model VS-M/S-71 'Degei' - The next evolution of the Imbrium Lunokhod Industries Frame System, the Degei takes the lessons learned during the development of the VS-A-GR5K 'Krivlyaka' and applies the well loved stylings that made the VS-MX-04 'Rangi' and the VS-M/A-Z9A 'Muku' such a success. The Degei is a versatile assault frame perfect for space-based interdiction and other zero-g tactical operations.
From a design perspective, the frame fits perfectly into the 7P scale and aligns with the desired aesthetic. Unfortunately, the thigh joints that worked so well on the Krivlyaka were very fragile when paired with a stiff ankle joint. Additionally, the design of the shoulder joint didn’t add enough range of motion to justify the parts usage. Finally, the hip/waist connection was too loose, even with a friction pin which made it difficult to find stable footing.
If I was going to revise this build, I think I would start with the ankles. A looser and more scale-conventional joint (using a pneuma-T or tap) would probably work better in the long run.

A team working on NASA’s Psyche spacecraft transitioned it from a vertical to a horizontal test configuration during prelaunch processing inside the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on May 9, 2022. The mission is targeting an Aug. 1 launch atop a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy. The spacecraft will use solar-electric propulsion to travel approximately 1.5 billion miles to rendezvous with its namesake asteroid in 2026. The Psyche mission is led by Arizona State University. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which is managed for the agency by Caltech in Pasadena, California, is responsible for the mission’s overall management, system engineering, integration and testing, and mission operations. Maxar Technologies in Palo Alto, California, provided the high-power solar electric propulsion spacecraft chassis. NASA’s Launch Services Program (LSP), based at Kennedy, is managing the launch.

The four configurations of cardinal buoys indicate the safe side
of a danger with an approximate bearing. For example, the North cardinal buoy has safe water on its North and the danger on its South side.

The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit is an American heavy strategic bomber, featuring low observable stealth technology designed for penetrating dense anti-aircraft defenses.
The bomber can deploy both conventional and thermonuclear weapons, The B-2 is the only acknowledged aircraft that can carry large air-to-surface standoff weapons in a stealth configuration.
The B-2 is based at Whiteman AFB just south of "metropolitan" Knob Noster, MO, population 2,700. I had the privilege to "fly" the B-2 trainer with a trainer pilot some years ago while doing USAF Reserve duty at Whitemen as a Colonel.
Last year around this time I took a stab at modding the AC8 into the various configurations the XM8 modular weapon system is capable of. Success was... mixed. You couldn't buy tan AC8s then. I kinda mangled the compact carbine when I tried using my Dremel to make the duckbill-style flash suppressor. The Brickarms M203 U-clipped to an AC8 made an acceptable stand-in for the XM320 grenade launcher you can attach to the XM8. And of course the LMG variant came out quite well, though I had to scratchbuild the C-mag--which was a real pain.
Fortunately, Tiny Tactical now makes a C-mag accessory for Brickarms, along with a G36-style side-loading grenade launcher that looks exactly like the XM320. This time the only major surgery I had to do was replacing the barrel on the LMG. I made some minor modifications to the grenade launcher and hinged it with a paper clip--it actually does swing out like it would when you're loading it. This time I did the flash suppressor notch on the compact with a razor saw, and widened and smoothed it with sandpaper. And of course both scopes got the "gemstone" treatment, which I thought came out really nicely.
No, I'm probably not going to do the DMR configuration--it would look exactly like the LMG, except without a bipod or drum mag.

Brand-new Qatari F-15 QA538 pulls up into a climb during its energetic display at the 2024 Royal International Air Tattoo. This jet was being flown by a Boeing test pilot and was in full combat configuration.
Aircraft: Boeing F-15QA Ababil QA538.
Location: RAF Fairford (FFD/EGVA), Gloucestershire.
It mimics the technic configuration on the right, which could also be used in two vehicles / structures to allow them to connect to each other. However, you know how tricky it can be sometimes getting two of those (the technic thing on the right) to click into place. And, it can take a lot of force to separate them, sometimes causing damage to the mocs.
You can also build one that has two horns in front next to a technic brick with two holes. And, that will connect to another like that pretty well. But, you'll notice a slight offset. If that's not a problem, then go for it. But, with the single horn set-up, the two sides line up straight and flush -- perfectly square.
1965 Citroën DS 21 Pallas (I'm guessing, so if you have a better idea let me know)
The french made Citroën DS is a front-engine, front-wheel-drive executive car that was manufactured from 1955 to 1975 in sedan, wagon/estate and convertible body configurations across three series/generations.
Interesting to note is that these cars were outfitted with a hydropneumatic suspension system, each wheel was connected, not to a spring/coil, but to a hydraulic suspension unit. providing a self-levelling system. But after sitting for a while the car "dropped" down and looked like the tires were flat but after starting it "rose" to normal driving condition.

The ExoMars Rosalind Franklin rover is seen here sitting on top of the Kazachok surface science platform in stowed configuration, rather similar to how it will journey to Mars in 2022.
The duo were mated in a dedicated clean room at Thales Alenia Space (TAS), Cannes, together forming the so-called ‘landing module’. The latest round of tests include electrical, power and data transfer checks between the two elements.
The landing module will later be integrated inside the descent module for mass balancing checks, together with the carrier module that will transport the mission to Mars.
This is not the last time the two flight models will be mated. After completion of the tests in Cannes, the rover will return to the TAS cleanrooms in Turin, Italy, for further functional testing, before being shipped to the launch site in Baikonur.
In this image, the back right solar panel of the landing platform is seen partially deployed. The front of the rover is seen, with its iconic drill stowed in horizontal position. A first in Mars exploration, the drill will extract samples down to a maximum of two metres, where ancient biomarkers may still be preserved from the harsh radiation on the surface, and deliver them to the rover’s sophisticated laboratory for analysis.
The mission is targeting a September 2022 launch window, landing on Mars in June 2023. Its goal is to determine the geological history of the landing site at Oxia Planum, once thought to host an ancient ocean, and to determine if life could ever have existed on Mars.
The ExoMars programme is a joint endeavour between ESA and the Russian State Space Corporation, Roscosmos.
The integration activities at Cannes were carried out by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space teams.
