You can't go to Hawaii and not have shave ice. The locals eat their shave ice with azuki (red beans), condensed milk, and mochi balls.

Waiola Shave Ice grinds their ice very fine and has a multitude of flavors. This is a half Melona and half blueberry shave ice topped with condensed milk.

This is what millions soviet kids used to love. We call them oreshki with condensed milk or nuts with condensed milk as they are in a shape of a nut.

I ordered a kopi-o. "O" means no milk. (O = zero = nothing added.)

This is an old-fashioned Malaysian restaurant. The main lease-holder does the drinks. He/she sublets out space to various food vendors/hawkers, who set up small cooking stations (cabinet, stove, plates, and utensils) in the lot. This place was fairly small, with three hawkers. Each hawker typically specializes in 1 dish, with a couple of variations on that dish. For instance, my parents brought me here to eat wonton mee (noodles): egg noodles (thin, or broad) in soup or gravy, served with wonton. You can also get suay gow, wontonish dumplings in a broth. Thanks to my sister for details on how these restaurants operate.

This is an interesting 48 pt. mould, received from the late John Eickhoff about fifteen years ago. It casts a solid body that is 0.849" high. Presumably spacing material produced from this mould was used for attaching plates or such in the old days. Note that Monotype moulds for 48 pt. usually produce type that have the recessed body to save weight.

If type was cast from this mould, theoretically, it would necessitate a matrix 0.069" deep (the standard depth for Monotype would be 0.065" or about 0.004" less). Now we do have matrices for Abbey Condensed, with a depth of about 0.100". These matrices are for a body slightly greater than 48 pt., having been created prior to the standardization of type sizes around 1880. However, it is close enough to use. Note the use of a mould top that has been cut down to clear the oversize matrix. More to follow.

A large water tank which had something to do with the condenseing system at Thorpe Marsh

From The New Zealand Mail 17 March 1893 via the National Library of Australia.

This small feather on the beach at St. Vincent's, NL caught my eye. It hadn't rained recently so wondered where the water droplets came from and then realized that as it was quite foggy, the feather fibres act to condense the fog. In Chile and parts of Africa where it is dry but they have fog, fine nets are hung out to harvest the fog for drinking water.

If you want to make your dentist frown, this is for you. A ridiculously decadent bar known by many names: 7-layer bar, magic bar, hello dolly, this is not for the faint of heart. I adapted the recipe from Baked by making use of what I have at home.

The base is made with a mix of graham cracker crumb, chocolate cookie crumb, toasted unsweetened coconut shreds, and melted butter. Then it was topped with toasted pecans, dark chocolate chips, dark chocolate chunks, white chocolate chips, milk chocolate swirl chips, peanut butter chips, and a generous soaking of condensed milk. The whole thing was baked for a rather long time to caramelize the condensed milk to golden goodness. Reminds me a bit of caramel or dulce de leche or toffee.

I thought I would find this too over-the-top. Surprisingly, the mix of chewy and gooey was a good balance. Yes, it's rich like you wouldn't believe but noone's fooling you into thinking this is diet food.

www.myfonts.com/fonts/latinotype/andes-condensed/ Andes, designed by Daniel Hernández, is a display typeface that has neo-humanist characteristics. Its different terminals, among other elements, give it a look of mixed typography. Andes is a typeface with 10 roman weights & 10 italics., ranging from Ultra Light to Black, each of the same x-height. This typeface contains additional italic glyphs (a, y, z, g) that help to emphasise text or words. Andes is based on the design of Merced and both of them share several features. This type is well-suited for use in retail, magazines, logotypes, books, etc. Designed by Daniel Hernández

Condensed water in a crystal glass - Texture

Coconut cake with condensed milk (easy and fast)

Ingredients:

- 1 can sweetened condensed milk

- 1 package of shredded coconut 100g

- 6 eggs

- 1 heaped tablespoon of baking

How to prepare

:

- Preheat the oven over medium heat before starting to prepare the cake.

- Grease a round pudding (we used a 20 cm diameter) with margarine or butter and corn starch or rice flour (can use flour, but if you want to make the cake completely gluten-free you have to use another ingredient).

- Place all ingredients in blender and blend well. Transfer the dough to form and place it in the oven.

- Bake in medium heat for 10 minutes, then lower the heat and allow 15 to 20 minutes. Since this time varies from stove to stove, keep monitoring the cake and remove from heat when the pasta is colored.

Now just be delighted!

The Michigan Condensed Milk Factory (owned by the Borden family) was constructed in 1908 and used as a creamery until 1960. After sitting vacant for 40 years, it was refurbished in 2003–2009, and now houses the offices of the City of Mount Pleasant. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Mount Pleasant, Michigan is a lovely town located in the center of the Lower Peninsula. Most of the city, including the historic district and its public facilities and businesses is located on the lands of the Saginaw Chippewa Nation's Isabella Indian Reservation. It is home to Central Michigan University, and is the seat of Isabella County.
