Lately I have been feeling that everything I do is just crappy, so I guess I have to repaint and return to the basics.

“She awoke in a room she had never been in before. Slowly she rose to her feet, her head and body swiveling to survey the surroundings. What she saw only served to increase her confusion, as none of the four walls around her seemed to have a door. The floor, a speckled blackish grey, was hard and polished. The ceiling, much higher than she expected, seemed smooth and featureless. The walls of the room were all identical - milky white in color, possessing a texture that was almost liquid.

Cautiously she approached one of the walls but as she neared it she stopped abruptly. There was something deeply unsettling about the depth of the wall's surface. It was dizzying, as if she could fall into it if she were not careful. She returned to the center of the room where she first woke up and studied the other walls. Each one had the same creamy consistency that caused her so much unease. After staring at the walls for an extended period of time, she began to hear voices. Faint at first, almost inaudible whispers, they grew in intensity until they echoed in her skull.

The voices beckoned her closer, closer to the surface of the walls. She could make out the shape of limbs and hands seemingly swimming behind the walls. Initially they circled the surface like sharks probing their prey, but soon they reached out and groped at her, outstretched fingers and hands clutching at the space around her. She huddled into a ball in the center of the room, her eyes closed and her body rocking back and forth, commanding herself repeatedly to wake up before the groaning extremities reached her.” -M.D. Walter

An image stuck in my head for over year was of a teenage-ish girl in a post-apocalyptic world in the basement of an abandoned office building, slinking back in a chair and staring down at the unfortunate soul stumbling across her path. Holding a scythe because she's Death.

So many random inspirations fade while others are lost to the realization that not every image needs to be made. Something about her stuck; I wanted to bring that beautiful girl to life.

Why this one? Unknown. Maybe the fact that death lurks anywhere and everywhere. Perhaps processing anxiety around natural disasters-- more the extreme suffering and fear of *not* dying in that case. Or the death sentence that was existing in the Bay Area (as in, if you live somewhere and never move, welp, that's where you'll expire. Fun thought if you're stuck in a place turning you into a hollowed-out husk of a human).

Then the eternal negotiation between the concept and the execution. Under the rule that there are no rules-- inspiration is not an obligation to replicate.

There's that magical point in your ArTIStic JoURney where you focus less on raw skill and creating images with wider appeal-- if anyone at all understands what makes sense in your head, great. If not, better yet!

Art is gradually dying buried under the layers of kitsch , senseless installations or SL Barbies and Kens , let alone endless zombies , vampires , computer game characters , you name it.

A phenomenon which saddens me immensely.

Taking pictures a tool (camera), not a photographer.

The choice of tool limits the possibilities.

Experience allows him (instrument) less and less to limit their capabilities.

The ability to see is given only when the observer allows ...

The moment of observation is the real find ...

Training and mastering it defies. Training leads to poor imitations of the original.

Often the result should ripen, like wine. Although time is the understanding of the mind, therefore it is very speculative.

The meaning of all this is the process!

Often we are visited by thoughts that may reveal something unknown ... Our mind many times tries to solve a problem with known methods ... This is its main mistake! The path of the heart opens the doors that appear in our path. It is a pity that not everyone has the courage to insert the keys that are always with us ...

Return to average is one of the most common stories in history. This is the main character in the economy, in the markets, in countries, companies, careers - in everything.

One of the reasons why this happens is that the same personality traits that push people to the top also increase the chances of pushing them over the edge.
