I've been trying to build this recently but have come unstuck each time, so for now it only exists is sketch mode. I'm keen to do it in minifig scale but the wheels/tread/chassis is giving me trouble, maybe microscale is the way to go. The crane in the upper left has nothing to do with the dump truck, it's just there to be confusing :-)

A samurai that kills thousands, end up followed by the spirits he killed. Perhaps that's what is called karma.

A ronin that forgot his original purpose, just wondering around for the hints to recall his memory. Perhaps it is only an excuse for him to travel.

A musketeer equipped with the most brutal guns, but he seems never aimed right. Perhaps he is too softhearted to kill.

Drifting between awareness and a dream, she clings to a fragile link—imperfect, outdated, yet still present—reflecting a suppressed need to stay connected, even as she retreats into her own subconscious realm.

Missile boats, carriers or bulk transports? I can't decide. But I love the idea of a long, cylindrical ship dispersing payload. The cigarette shape I guess. I thought the Saturn V structure would be a good chassis to play around with. Something for next SHIPtember maybe.

The Hag Titan is as finished as she's gonna get. Hoping to get some pics tomorrow and start editing them.

Also, soon I'm going to start inviting any and all concept art I can find to Apocalust's Concept to Construct group. There are some very talented artists and designers here in the AFoL community and I've love to have their artwork in the one place.

I remember a Flickr group here a few years ago (attached to the Classic-Space Forum?) that used to collect sci-fi concept art from the web, I don't know what happened to it. Is it something we could resurrect?

Hmm, I do have a lot of orange bricks already...

Some more digital art practice, this concept is around explorers using some kind of Clarke-tech (advanced technology comparable to magic); so rather than big heavy rovers and exo-suits maybe it's telepresence beamed down from orbit as avatars (no need to worry about fighting dangerous gravity wells). Exploring as ghosts or gods: effortless, elegant, silent, spectral.

I'm not sure the picture tells the story enough though; I had trouble trying to convey movement to the drone. It looks a little static to, frozen to me. What are your thoughts?

From the book The Art of The Last Jedi. Don't get me wrong, I really loved the movie. But I do have a few design preferences I would've changed.

Like the bomber: The long tube designs look great, retain both the WW2 vibe and the 70s sci-fi look. The decision to go vertical is fine but it feels like it ended up a compromise, the end shape being a right angle square. A tad too goofy for me. At least keep the wings wide: it offers a larger target and suggests a tightrope walker balancing. Precarious and vulnerable.

What do you people think? Like? Dislike? Meh?

No Lego this time. Seems like a pretty blatant Sparth ripoff, totally unintentional but still a ripoff.

pa un contest pero me pase por un minuto xD en fin...

Whenever something bothers me, I don't talk with anyone about it. I think it over all by myself, come to a conclusion and take action alone. Not that I really feel lonely, I think that’s just the way things are. Human beings, in the end, have to survive on their own.

From the book The Art of The Last Jedi. I don't recall getting a good look at DJ's ship in the movie which is a shame-the design looks pretty cool. A cocktail of Lotus Espirit, a Thunderfighter and Maximillion from Disney's Black Hole. It would make a neat Lego set or model kit but you know, it's only ever more X-Wings and TIE fighters, for ever and ever, lol.

About this Artwork:

This is a concept art sketch for a crowned demon. Crowned by a glowing sigil of power he is the leader of demon troups.

Space superiority fighter designation ORCA. Weapons: gimbal mounted particle beam emitter for point defense, 8x medium-yield nuclear missiles plus mission-variable twin hard points. Propulsion is provided by an ion drive requiring substantial heat dissipation. The design of the ship offers a small and narrow frontal cross-section. Roundel features on either flank of the ship are classified and their function is not currently know. The chin houses six canisters of countermeasures. Pilots of these vessels undergo extensive genetic modifications to enable them to pilot craft in both zero and extremely high Gs.

My entry for the Starfighter 200+ contest. The initial design was a really simple, hard-edged rectangle with the alternating black/white graphic shapes. It looked a little boring so I'd add extra volume and embellishments only to regret that it started losing it's bold outlines and simplicity. After see-sawing back and forth a few times I finally settled on this iteration; a little bit of both. Heavily inspired by weapon design in games such as Destiny. And this blog.

Sidenote: Do any other space peeps here watch SFIA with Isaac Arthur on YouTube? A friend suggested it to me recently and I absolutely love it. Everything to do with science fiction, space theories and future tech. Each episode has gold nuggets of ideas and inspiration for Lego space building :-)
