Cona, the neighbours cat, is often seen trying to hunt but he's very old now and doesn't catch much, thank goodness.
MV-22B Osprey, 168670/YR-03 from VMM-161 Greyhawks during the flypast at CONA February 2011. Not sure why they are known as the Greyhawks when their crest depicts a pegasus, but the unit was the first helicopter transport unit in the world.
UN' OASI DA CONSERVARE
Istituita ufficialmente nel 1996 in una zona oggetto dei primi interventi di ripristino dai primi anni ’90, la Riserva si trova nella parte orientale della regione Friuli Venezia Giulia lungo l’ultimo tratto del corso dell’Isonzo, su una superficie di 2.338 ettari, 1.154 dei quali in ambiti marini. Sito particolarmente adatto per il birdwatching (ospita oltre 300 specie di uccelli), è abitata anche da numerose altre specie: pesci, cigni, volpi, nutrie, rettili e i famosi cavalli bianchi della Camargue, introdotti nel 1991.

AN OASIS TO PRESERVE
Officially established in 1996 in an area subject to the first restoration interventions since the early 1990s, the Reserve is located in the eastern part of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region along the last stretch of the Isonzo river, on an area of 2,338 hectares, 1,154 of which in marine environments. A particularly suitable site for birdwatching (home to over 300 species of birds), it is also inhabited by numerous other species: fish, swans, foxes, otters, reptiles and the famous white Camargue horses, introduced in 1991.

Un simpatico ATR 120 si appresta a fermarsi a Cona come R91582, in un tiepido pomeriggio di febbraio.
LA FAMIGLIA ALLARGATA
L’Isola della Cona è considerata il cuore della Riserva Naturale e l’area di maggiore interesse. All’interno ci sono diversi osservatori e punti di osservazione strategici da cui ammirare le specie di animali che vivono l’Isola della Cona, senza disturbarli.
In questo modo, gli animali non si sentono minacciati dalla presenza dell’uomo, anche se si arriva molto vicino a loro.
Ci sono due percorsi aperti al pubblico: il primo ad anello di circa due chilometri, e il secondo più lungo, circa 9 chilometri tra andata e ritorno, che raggiunge Punta Spigolo, ovvero la foce del fiume.

THE EXTENDED FAMILY
Cona Island is considered the heart of the Nature Reserve and the area of greatest interest. Inside there are several observatories and strategic observation points from which to admire the species of animals that live on Cona Island, without disturbing them.
In this way, the animals do not feel threatened by the presence of humans, even if they get very close to them.
There are two routes open to the public: the first is a circular route of around two kilometres, and the second longer, around 9 kilometers round trip, which reaches Punta Spigolo, which is the mouth of the river.

Cona, also Dongaii Cona or Tsonag Lake (Chinese: 錯那湖, Cuonahu), is a major lake of northern Tibet Autonomous Region, China and is It is located in Amdo County, west of the road between Nagqu Town and Amdo Town. The lake is considered holy to the Tibetans especially in the Bon religion, as it is seen as the "soul lake" of the Razheng Living Buddha. The smaller Ganong Lake lies almost adjacent to the southeast.
Its area is approximately 300 square kilometers, and it is at 4594 meters above sea level making it one of the world's higher freshwater lakes.
Tsonag Lake can be observed on the right (west) as the train passes Tsonag Lake Railway Station on Qingzang Railway, going south toward Lhasa
