From the Coca-Cola a website
"Most people can agree on what Santa Claus looks like -- jolly, with a red suit and a white beard. But he did not always look that way, and Coca-Cola® advertising actually helped shape this modern-day image of Santa.
2006 marked the 75th anniversary of the famous Coca-Cola Santa Claus. Starting in 1931, magazine ads for Coca-Cola featured St. Nick as a kind, jolly man in a red suit. Because magazines were so widely viewed, and because this image of Santa appeared for more than three decades, the image of Santa most people have today is largely based on our advertising."
Before this Santa or St Nick was known for his green cloak. Just like St Patrick. Maybe Ireland needs to re-brand or are we for sale to the highest bidder.

Here's a P-3C painted up in a Centennial of Naval Aviation/CoNA livery in tribute to the "Black Bats" Squadron that flew covert missions from Taiwan against the People's Republic of China (PRC). Seems apropos considering the 2001 incident where an EP-3E Aries III had to emergency land on Hanian Island, PRC on a similar Signals Intelligence/SIGINT mission. The tail of that aircraft is now in the NAS Whidbey Officer's Club.
Signals reconnaissance version of the P-3. In 2001, an EP-3 was involved with a collision with a Chinese fighter. The aircraft pointed directly at the camera is a E-6B Mercury.
