Several layers of problems cascaded while replacing the CD burner but all are ok now. Functioning even more freely since he brought along an airport wireless device in case I wanted it. I'd never thought about that before - but, why not?
Cat fans may want to know about the most difficult of the problems, since it was caused by cats, officially a CATastrophe. When it was necessary for me to produce the password for my broad band account I opened the desk drawer for the important papers file and found the drawer contained a lot of water. Quite a few of the papers had sort of dissolved, taking information, including the password, with them. I tried to blame the water on the rain, though that was unlikely. This morning I woke up remembering a week or more ago when I came home to find a pitcher full of flowers tipped over on the desk by some cat activity. Water was all over floor and I cleaned it up. I never thought to check the desk drawer! So a trip to the telecommunications office with my passport, receipts which had not dissolved this morning so I could create a new password. Cats! Computers! What would I do without them?
