We will be completely redesigning the compressor system using twin Extreme Air compressors by Extreme Outback Products, www.extremeoutback.com, a 5-gallon ACCUAIR aluminum tank, www.accuairsuspension.com and a new air management system designed by Hellwig www.hellwigproducts.com and Extreme Outback Products.
I decided to add a compressor to the engine as it shows clearly in the prototype photo I'm working from. Also- last winter I was making what I could from material on hand before making a purchase specifically for this engine, and this was a fun little project.
I scaled down the model shown in the New Shay book and simplified it a little. it mounts under the front corner of the cab on the left side of the engine.
Railfan trip on the Providence and Worcester (plus a bit of Northeast Corridor) at the start of fall foliage time. A lot of shots through windows that could have used a bit of cleaning, but beautiful scenery and a good time was had by all.

Rotate vertically and utilzed front rise (vertical shift)
The John Hollis flatline compressor, a very subtle effect that I've found works best on bass and acoustic guitar. It's an optical compressor that doesn't have that heavy 'squish' to it you get with others (like the Orange Squeezer).

My ice cream/gelato machine has been sitting on my credenza all summer so thought I'd use it a few more times before the cold weather sets in. I made Cherry Garcia frozen yogurt today. I added cherries and chocolate chips in this batch. This machine makes 1-1/2 quarts and will keep cold even after it stops churning because of the compressor inside.
