I took this photowalk the weekend before the first lockdown started. It was an unusually sunny day and people were wandering around dazed and confused and there was a strange vibe in the air. I can't believe this was 3 years ago, it feels like it was only a few weeks ago. This whole period has messed with my conception of time and no amount of routine things and habits have returned me to feeling like I did before. Photos sometimes help to ground my experiences because you don't recall anything in a linear fashion - but now the photos only have dates and everything feels compressed.
Any of you feel this way?

Telephoto techniques in photography - compressed heat waves during a parade in downtown Lorain, Ohio
My telephoto compresses the distance between the swans and across the broad Mississippi River and you can see a train moving South on the Wisconsin side of the river.
These birds are among my favoirites to photograph. Here they are flying South which puts a little catch light in their eyes.
Thanks in adavance for any favs or comments you may choose to leave.
What's missing in Hong Kong is... elbow room. When you're out walking around, you feel as if you're going to be run over by something. Buses, Tram, Taxi, people and more people.

This is nesting gulls in Hamilton harbour. This is one of the many breaks to control water movement leading to the steel factories. I liked the contrast in this photo. I also like how much a telephoto lens compresses an image...that factory is actually really far away....I have another image taken with my 35mm which I will post later which will demonstrate.
