After watching videos by Dr Gary Fettke - google him - we realised why these apples and bananas did not make us feel good after eating them. These modern fruits are truly sugar bombs. Only fruit from our own garden from now on, in season and fresh.

NUORO.

I mashed about in the back yard & woods, then decided to turn the big compost pile. Added stuff from to small bins. Inner core steaming! Wow!

I didn't turn my compost at all last winter and it froze. I'm gonna keep turning this winter to have garden compost early spring :)

Really something to see what looks like a pile of snow, is actually food & leaf waste breaking down to essential elements, high nutrient dirt.

Description: To prevent wet waste like kitchen waste and leftover food from being dumped into landfills where it releases harmful greenhouse gases, the Indian government in 2016 mandated segregation of waste. Under the Solid Waste Management Rules the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change also stressed the importance of composting of wet waste by residential colonies and businesses.

Many residential colonies in cities of India have since then started colony-wide composting of wet waste, creating compost for their gardens. This move not only prevents wet waste from entering landfills but also leads to creation of compost — full of healthy nutrients for plants.

In the video, a member of SWaCH — a cooperative of self-employed waste collectors in Pune can be seen mixing wet waste of an RWA with soil to create compost in the composting unit within the residential colony.

Compost, after sifting.

Monica and Jes brought over a surprise brunch with strawberries and mimosas. How sweet.

Also, the kitchen is empty.

Beautiful compost, full of worms. Somethings been living in it, so Misha tells me, but I haven't found it yet.

Another view of the worm bin. Notice the drainage on the bottom, used to collect the worm compost tea that will fall through the system, and collect in a bucket for us to use as fertilizer.

don't know what this is but in the compost about 3mm long.

Despite playing around with a huge diffuser I wasn't quite able to get the quality of light correct.

25 gallons of compost. What a beautiful thing.
