compostables are nestled between two layers of netting. items break down over time and feed plants at base. I'm guessing that I could eventually put plants into the fence!

The old Afghan men are all DAIL, the district level of the Agricultural Ministry, employees. They came to the PRT to attend a class on composting and greenhouse design.

As you can see, the compost pile is quite toasty. It turns out that yes, paper towels compost relatively easily. The key is to add lots of "greens" to balance them out; this pile has a huge quantity of coffee grounds added.

I bought the "Tea" (aka composted worm poop) at the Boulder farmer's market and watered my plants with it

The City of Port Coquitlam kicked off Earth Week 2010 on Monday morning with an event at Kwayhquitlum Middle School that illustrates the journey food scraps take from kitchen to cart to compost.

 

The first 100 people who arrived received a free bag of compost and a Kitchen Composter Starter Kit!

Everybody loves a good compost bin.

For remove leachate from the composting tank, we are offering submersible pump from Ebara. It has a magnetic float switch for automatic operation and starts when the leachate reaches a certain level.

The ATV is borrowed. The snow plow on the front did a great job moving dirt around.

I have a confession to make:

 

I often catch myself admiring the beauty of a bowl of compost on its way out to the bin. In late March, I found myself with lots of fresh flowers heading out to compost, and I couldn't help but photograph them along the way. Forgive me.
