this is actually a composite of two photos; below the horizon was taken in the morning and above the horizon in the evening.

Composite of the sun from about 12:45-1:40pm CST. The center image is taken without a filter, the surrounding images were taken with a solar filter.

The text in the images describes the kind of filter that I used to take the shot. P-mode, white-balanced in post. All were taken with a clear-glass mod F828, with only the one filter on, if any, plus a polarizer.

Done with video editing software.
