I tend to not use Flickr for my composite photos. Never really sure why. It's certainly not something I'm in any moral sense opposed to, and it's actually something I enjoy working on, but I find that I'll frequently spend hours pouring work into building something only to throw it out without saving because it just doesn't work for me. This is all part of why I lean so heavily on chemical photography: it forces me as a photographer, as a graphic artist, to accept the results of my work as what they are. If I think back to when I first started digital graphics back in the late 90's, my early home forays into the field had no checks or balances placed against them to screen out whether or not something was even a good idea in the first place.
I find digital art can be very distracting, you have so many tools at your disposal that the temptation to "fix" bad photos is too great. There are the times when a technically horrid photo needs to be salvaged for whatever purposes, or standard editorial interpretation (contrast, colour balance, cropping) can breathe life into a so-so picture, but without the hard reality of shooting film (particularly shooting chrome) one can spend vast amounts of time producing bad art and never develop an eye for self-critique.
If you take away self critique, give powerful toys to the masses, and give the masses a self-contratulatory audience of themselves, aesthetic often dies a slow, painful death. Granted it's this sesspool of mediocre product that fuels the dissatisfaction that inevitably drives the next generation of great artists to revolt.
As for this piece, it needs a cropping, the lines aren't as seamless as I could make them, and the whole thing with the palm trees is a horrific cliche. That said, I felt it was worth talking about.

This is my entry for the 2017 LSB Contest in the "Overkill Oval" category:
The Devastator is a Heavy speeder. It's weight is mainly caused by it's huge chunks of very thick composite armor which protects the most crucial parts of the speeder. The Devastator mostly comes nearly undamaged out of it's battles. The Devastator is armed with a 30 mm Gatling cannon, which was assembled from the Grjasew-Schipunow GSch-30-2K machine cannons of the Mil Mi-24 "Hind". While this isn't the heaviest weapon in the Overkill Oval category it is one of the more reliable guns. The Devastator is powered by two medium sized jet engines. The speeder doesn't use heavy engines on this speeder because of the size limit in the back of the speeder at the end the medium engines just came out to have the much more power to size ratio. This speeder has huge hover pads under it's driver because of it's extreme weight, however, like with all Triton speeders, it has a very fragile landing gear which breaks down very fast. A big problem with the Devastator is it's bad maneuverability and it's rather poor top speed.
(I will make an .io file for this creation.)

The shelves were made from a 1x6x12 piece of Trex composite deck board. This material is made from recycled grocery bags and wood pulp so it's nice and eco friendly. And as an added bonus, it's totally weatherproof so we can pull the shelves out and hose them off once they get dirty from all those shoes.
The Trex boards were ripped into strips and then glued together with four 1/2" wide blocks of the same material.

CTG design and manufacture isolators. Isolators and highly resistive fittings are used in fuel, inerting and hydraulic systems within aircraft. They utilise our proprietary composite material and feature either aluminium or stainless steel end fittings for conventional installation. Isolators link fuel and hydraulic systems within the aircraft wing, fuselage and engine pylon.
The electrical properties of these components control the effects of a lightning strike on the aircraft and its fluid systems, preventing combustion in the fuel tank. Due to the advanced composite structure of the isolators, the resistance can be controlled from being fully isolating to highly conductive.
