An Adelie Penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae) (left) and a Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua) stand together on a snowbank stained with lobster krill castings. This allows one to compare the two penguins more or less side by side. One item of note, the toenails, clearly seen on the Gentoo, allow the penguins to really grip the ice. They can navigate with seemingly ease, slippery slopes and ice blocks.
The CCE scalp to the left is rooted in 6 even circles plus some mess near the top of the head. The Basaak scalp to the right is neatly rooted, two more rows than the CCE and with different directions/angles for the front area.

Although at a glance they looked identical, in reality both are completely different type of locomotive.
The last batch from our day out a couple of weeks ago at Andrew's Scenic Acres.
He picked the little one because it was easy to carry back from the pumpkin patch. He couldn't resist comparing it to these pallets of large pumpkins.

As requested, a comparison of the old and new versions of the model.
I rebuilt the main body from the mid section back to the engine, retextured to remove the awful bump maps, replaced the wings with more accurate versions and lengthened the nose slightly. I lightened the brass plates somewhat as well, based on images of the studio model that I found.
It's by no means a great model, I built it years ago when I first started and I've only spent a couple of hours rebuilding it to get it to an acceptable level. If I get really bored one day I'll go to town on it with detail and custom texture maps, but it's not a priority.
This is a comparison between an approx 23 year old Tokina 17mm and a new 11-16 at 16mm.
I shot at ISO 200 on "A", no exposure compensation...etc. I wanted to see the differences in flare, vignetting with the sun in the frame.

On the left is the Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM, and on the right is the Sigma 28mm f/1.8 EX DG Macro, both using the exact same camera settings.
The object here was to see how much difference 4mm makes, in terms of focal length and wide angle shots. As you can see, there isn't much difference. The new 24mm lens is slightly wider than the 28mm lens, but not by much. What surprised me more was the difference in brightness -- the Sigma let through more light at f/2.8 than did the Canon. But the colors look slightly richer from the Canon.
(The camera was on a tripod; it didn't move between shots.)
