La iglesia evangélica luterana Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche (iglesia en recuerdo del emperador Guillermo), coloquialmente conocida como Gedächtniskirche (iglesia del recuerdo), se halla en la plaza Breitscheidplatz, junto a la avenida de Kurfürstendamm en Charlottenburg-BerlÃn (cerca del lado suroccidental del Tiergarten).
Tras ser destruida en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, se ha conservado en estado de ruina como memorial.​ Se compone de varios cuerpos y se declaró monumento protegido.

La iglesia se construyó entre 1891 y 1895 de acuerdo a los planos de Franz Schwechten, con un estilo arquitectónico neorrománico según el modelo de diversas iglesias románicas de Renania, y en especial de la catedral de Bonn, de estilo románico tardÃo, y situada en Bonn. La parte moderna de la Iglesia, por su singular forma y la de la torre se denomina, cada una de sus partes, "la polvera" y "el lápiz de labios".
Las paredes de las nuevas salas de la iglesia se caracterizan por tener más de 20.000 cristales coloreados que sumergen el interior en una luz azulada. Aparte de ello, la construcción de doble pared aÃsla el interior del ruido del tráfico de las cercanÃas.

La verdad es que nada de lo anterior es verdad, solo son simples exageraciones de lo que cada dÃa nos pasa a millones de personas algo tan común y a la vez tan magnificador de nuestro alrededor que recibe el nombre de "nudo en el estomago" para algunos no es nada, para otros algo poco frecuente, ¿y para los que viven el dÃa a dÃa asÃ? es una situación realmente abrumadora.

Made a daytrip to Lake Como one day, it was only about an hour hour away from Milan by train. Had lunch in the city of Como before taking a ferry to Bellagio and Varenna in the central area of the lake. The old part of Como city is certainly worth a visit, especially its cathedral, old city walls, streets and lanes. The town/village of Brunate can be seen on top of the hill in this pic, it can easily be reached from Como by a funicular train. The views from up there are quite spectacular but I didn't have enough time that day.
