Salendo a Brunate con la vecchia mulattiera, nei pressi dell’ex convento di San Donato, la vista si apre su Como illuminata mentre all’orizzonte s’affievolisce l’ultima luce del giorno.
Taken in June 2016 during my second trip to Lake Como. This is the evening in the pretty picturesque town of Varenna. There were thunderstorms which gave very dramatic light and atmosphere.
Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20mm, Lee polarising and 0.9ND filters.
I shot this from Hurricane Pass. This lake is at an elevation of 12,000 feet. To get some perspective of size, there is a suv parked on the light colored area on the opposite side of the lake.
So if you have been following along with the pictures I have posted, I started with Crystal Lake, than Corkscrew Gulch, now Hurricane Pass, and next California Pass.

My wife and I just returned from our first trip to this beautiful lake resort area. This is a small town on Lake Como, Italy just north of Milan. The lake area is filled with little towns crawling up the sides of mountains. Some of the scenery looks surreal. There are many beautiful villas surrounded by tall cypress trees overlooking the lake. Lake Como is a landscape photographer's dream. I hope I can help illustrate the beauty of Lake Como with some of my images. Enjoy.
The tranquility each morning on Lake Como was amazing, this was the view from the apartment balcony in Onno, for a couple of mornings I was gifted some nice light and colour in the sky. The hue towards the north end of the lake was always blue and hazy

Positano es una comuna italiana de 3862 habitantes, localizada en la región de Campania, en el sur de Italia, situada a la orilla del golfo de Salerno, a unos 40 km de Nápoles. Es, junto con Ravello y Amalfi, el destino turístico más importante de la Costa Amalfitana (Costiera Amalfitana).
Parte integrante de la antigua República Amalfitana, una de las más pujantes de Italia durante la Alta Edad Media, su activo puerto entró en decadencia como consecuencia de la desaparición de la república debido a las incursiones de Roger II de Sicilia y los pisanos. Durante parte de los siglos XIX y XX, una porción significativa de los habitantes del pueblo emigraron a Estados Unidos para huir de la pobreza.
La suerte del pueblo comenzó a cambiar en los años 1950 gracias al turismo. Un suave clima unido a un bellísimo entorno propició la llegada de turistas adinerados de toda Europa y los Estados Unidos. Uno de los más ilustres visitantes del pueblo, el novelista estadounidense John Steinbeck contribuyó a dar a conocer el atractivo del pueblo con su artículo de mayo de 1953 en el Harper's Bazaar: "Positano bites deep, it is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone". ("Positano te marca. Es un lugar de ensueño que no parece real mientras se está allí, pero que se hace real en la nostalgia cuando te has ido").
Entre los productos de Positano destacan la moda, la cerámica, el “limoncello” y "albertissimo".
Como parte de la Costa Amalfitana, Positano ha sido declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco. (Wikipedia)
