Aarti’s parents are a part of “Food for Work” program run by World Vision India. This is a unique programme that ensures employment and food security for people in villages. We work along with the government to initiate food-for-work programmes, where villagers are given work benefitting their own village and given food for their service.
Aarthi’s mother is benefitted through the PD-HEARTH programme run by World Vision India. Through this progamme, women in the village are taught to cook nutritious food through locally available ingredients. This has improved the health of the people, especially the children, and has prevented malnutrition
When Rekha failed in 2 subjects in 12th std. examinations, her world became gloomy. She wanted to end her life.
However, the staff at World Vision counseled her and encouraged her to rewrite the exams. She succeeded and
began serving as a World Vision volunteer in her own community. She helped many children and families to
become self-reliant through the support of World Vision.Rekha’s joy knew no bounds when she was selected as the
branch postmaster by the postal department. Today, Rekha is married and lives happily. “I thank World Vision for providing timely care and support to me. This has made a huge difference in my life,” says Rekha.
