Crime rate
Coventry recorded an increase of 8% in total recorded crime (+1,680 offences) in 2016/17. This is lower than the West Midlands Police area, which increased by 11.2% (+20,631 offences). While any increase in crime is unwelcome, Coventry saw the second lowest increase (with Walsall in first place with a 1% increase).
What crimes have increased?
In Coventry, there has been a 20% increase (355 offences) in theft from motor vehicles. Four offences account for nearly half of all crimes recorded by local neighbourhood policing units - theft from motor vehicles, theft of pedal cycles, theft from shop or stall, theft of motor vehicle.
Hate crime incidents
490 hate incidents (both crime and non crime) were recorded in 2016/17. The graphic below compares hate incidents by type in 2015/16 and 2016/17.
Domestic violence and abuse
5,771 incidents down 3.4% reduction of 201 incidents (-3.4%) from 2015/16
Main crimes committed are: assault – actual bodily harm (n=710); common assault (n=432); wounding; breach of restraining order; and criminal damage to dwelling
53% involving children down 15.8% - Exposure to adverse childhood experiences like domestic violence impacts on future violence victimisation or perpetration, and lifelong health and opportunities.

Give. Advocate. Volunteer. In two days, United Way will host it's annual Day of Caring and I get to be one of the volunteer photographers. I've loved volunteering on this special day for years. The first time I did it was way back when I worked at Champion Hills and was the company's campaign coordinator. I'll always remember sorting clothes in the basement at Mainstay. How cool it was to come full circle this year and get to photograph Mainstay director, Tanya Blackford, for the 2011 billboard campaign. South Sudanese women are urging the UN and international community to support their meaningful participation and leadership in all political, governance and security structures.
The call to help secure 35 percent representation, as required by the peace agreement, was made to the Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix during his visit to the country.
The women’s groups said political leaders were not committed to the full implement the peace deal. They described the lack of progress on security sector reform as “worrisome” and demanded urgent action on constitution-making and the establishment of strong governance institutions to advance elections.

Day 2 of Brands Hatch Brit Car into The Night and after a thrilling set of Qualifying and Racing Yesterday All Drivers were Ready Once again to Challenge the Circuit.
Some Drivers from the Previous Day were Seen Packing Up and Heading Home after a Brilliant Days Racing while Others were Just Arriving and Getting their Machines Prepared for The Race Track.

First Up onto the Circuit was The Intermarque Silhouettes and Thease Machines are Very Quick and Built to be as Light Weight as Possible by Using a Space Frame Chassis and a Fibreglass Body.

The Mini's were Up Next and After Some Incredible Racing Yesterday which Saw the Likes of Rupert Deeth Take 1st with Scott Kendall 2nd and Colin Peacock 3rd it was Going to be an Intense Battle at the Front of the Field.
The Likes of Endaf Owens was Also Prepared after an Engine Failure During Yesterdays Race Which Many thought would put him out of Contention for Today..........However With Some Incredible Overnight Work by Him and His Fellow Mechanics as well as a Late Night Trip to Wales and Back to Pick Up a Spare Engine, Endaf and His Dedicated Team Have Managed to Get his Car Ready for Race 2. Truly a Phenomenal Achievement. Lets Hope for Better Luck this Time.

Now it was Time for the Return of the Ginetta Junior Championship onto the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit and after Some Intense and Close Racing Yesterday Each Driver was Ready to Go for Victory Once Again.

In Second Place was (Max Doods) in his GBR Assetto Motorsport with a Best Lap Time of 59.284 and an Average Speed of 71.21mph. Brilliant Driving from Max Pushing Himself and The Car Thought the Race to take Home a Fantastic P2 Finish.
In Third Place was (Liam Mcneilly) in his GBR Fox Motorsport with a Best Lap Time of 59.426 and an Average Speed of 71.12mph. Brilliant Driving Liam P3 and The Final Spot on The Podium.

As The Light Fell away from the Circuit The Britcar Endurance Championship made its way out onto the circuit with Lights a Blaze and a lot of Energy coming from both the Drivers and their Cars This was Going to be a Race of Endurance and Car Management thought the 45 Minutes of the Race.
During Qualifying Yesterday The Team of

Valluga's Ian Humphries/Benji Hetherington in Second while
Nial Bradley Took Third.
With a Quick set of Warm Up Laps Over it was Time for The Brit car's to make their way out onto the Track and Get Ready for two Races of Endurance to Decide the Britcar Champion of 2021.
In First Place Taking the Victory was (Valluga's) Ian Humphries and Benji Hetherington in their Porsche 718 GT4 Club sport with a Best Lap Time of 50.023 and an Average Speed of 70.37mph. Congratulations both Ian and Benji a Fantastic Win in Very Tricky and Tiering Circumstances thought the 45 Minutes.
In Second Place was (Nial Bradley) in his BMW M3 E46 with a Best Lap Time of 50.799 and an Average Speed of 70.34mph. Brilliant work there Nial Keeping the Pressure on for both Ian and Benji at the front of the Pack. a Very Committed Drive for P2.

Congratulations Steve a Really Phenomenal Drive to take The Final Win of the Weekend for Britcar. Brilliantly Driven and Nicely Controlled.

Great Work there by both the likes of Ian and Carl to Bring there car Home in P2. A Wonderful Way to End the Weekend and the Championship.
In Third Place was (Spires Motorsport's) Anton Spies in his Renault Clio Gen 4 with a Best Lap Time of 1:01.189 and an Average Speed of 64.37mph. A Very Heroic Drive from Anton Pushing His Renault Hard and Ensuring He Defends that All Important Final Spot on the Podium. Great Job.

she committed suicide in her bedroom. Since her suicide, police have begun to wonder if she was at least in part of a victim of cyberbullying. Friends put up a memorial site on Facebook , but it soon became littered with personal insults, sexually suggestive comments, even pictures of nooses and people with their heads blown off. The same thing happened on Formspring.me.
But judging by the mean-spirited comments in the wake of her death, they had to contribute to her depression and anxiety before her suicide.
Shrinks believe cyberbullying causes much worse damage than conventional bullying, since anonymity leaves the victim to guess who her attackers are, lending the feeling that she's universally disliked, instead of just the target of a few loser
