As the leading voice for collaborative public art projects around the world, the International Fiber Collaborative is dedicated to promoting understanding and appreciation of contemporary art & craft through educational experiences. We are committed to developing vital education programs that elevate, expand, modernize and enhance the image of collaboration and education today.
★WHAT IS THE DREAM ROCKET PROJECT?
The Dream Rocket Team is collecting nearly 8,000 artworks from participants around the globe. The artwork will be assembled together to create a massive cover in which will wrap a 37 story Saturn V Moon Rocket at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. We will also be displaying submitted artwork in dozens of national venues prior to the wrapping of the Saturn V. Additionally, we are posting images of submitted artwork & their stories on our Website, Flickr, and Facebook.The Dream Rocket project uses the Saturn V Moon Rocket as a symbolism of universal values of the human spirit. Optimism, hope,
caring for our natural resources, scientific exploration, and harnessing technological advancements for a better quality of life while safeguarding our communities, are all common desires across national and international boundaries. Participants are able to express and learn about these values through this creative collaboration. With the completion of each artwork, participants are asked to write an essay explaining their artwork, and the dream theme in which they chose.

The Dream Rocket project would like to challenge you to ‘Dare to Dream’. To dream about your future and the future of our world through dream themes such as health, community, conservation, science, technology, space, peace, and so on. We would like you to use your selected Dream Theme to express, explore, and create your vision on your section of the wrap. We hope that you are able to express and learn through this creative collaboration. With the completion of each artwork, you are asked to write a brief essay explaining your artwork, and the dream theme in which you chose.

The Council is increasing enforcement actions against fly-tipping via:
new street enforcement team working with neighbourhood enforcement, continuing work on targeting hot streets; and
new surveillance equipment deployed at known hot spots to Household waste that was not sent for recycling, reuse or composting grew more quickly than waste sent for recycling. Actions taken include promoting home composting with Master Composters; 5,000 interactive waste education books given out to children in year 5; and moving onto alternate week waste (green bin) collections in September.

In 2015, the Council secured an extra £5.5m of Department for Transport funding towards the structural refurbishment of the Swanswell viaduct between ring road junctions 2-4. Following preparatory work, the main construction work is now due to commence in May 2017 and be completed by March 2018.
The Council demonstrated that it has an effective and efficient approach to highways asset management, and successfully attracted the maximum funding allocation from the Department for Transport’s incentive fund.

On Rescuer's Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, congratulated them on their professional holiday, and awarded state honors.
He emphasized that today is the professional holiday of all those whose job and calling is to save lives.
"Whatever happens, the SES of Ukraine is always there to help, and always promptly. They remain fully committed to their most important mission: saving lives," said the President.
The President inspected samples of automotive and robotic equipment. In particular, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko and SES Head Andriy Danyk reported on the use of surface drones and robotic systems for mine disposal.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian rescuers have responded to over 170,000 shelling occasions and extinguished more than 20,000 fires. SES sappers have neutralized over half a million explosive devices.
As a result of Russian aggression, 97 SES personnel have been killed, 395 injured, and 4 are currently held in Russian captivity.
The attendees observed a minute of silence to honor all those Ukraine has lost due to the war.
The President presented the Order of the Golden Star to the family of the fallen Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel of the Civil Protection Service Artem Kostyria. The Lieutenant Colonel participated in over 70 operations to mitigate the consequences of Russian attacks. After the liberation of the Kharkiv region, he organized the restoration of nearly 100 damaged fire and rescue units. Thanks to his efforts, over 2,400 people were evacuated. Artem Kostyria was killed on July 13 this year while responding to the aftermath of an enemy missile strike when Russian forces launched a second ballistic missile attack.
The President also awarded SES employees the Orders "For Courage", II and III class, and the Order of Danylo Halytskyi.
Additionally, in Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s presence, the winners of the nationwide "Hero – Rescuer of the Year" campaign were honored. Eight Ukrainians received awards:
Oleh Holubchenko, a maxillofacial surgeon from the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital. On July 8 of this year, during a Russian missile strike, he was performing surgery. Medical equipment failed, but he found alternative ways to maintain breathing and carried the child to shelter. Despite his injuries, he assisted rescuers and volunteers in clearing the hospital’s rubble.
Artem Makarov, a cadet at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. In April of this year, he saved an eight-year-old boy whom his own mother tried to drown.
Andriy Bibik, a police officer in the Novopillia community. In one of the villages, he noticed thick smoke near the houses. An outbuilding was on fire, and the flames were spreading toward homes. Andriy rescued a 13-year-old girl, an infant, and two dogs.
Yuliia Oholikhina, a personnel specialist at the SES in the Zaporizhzhia region. While on vacation, she saw a child drowning in a pool. She pulled the girl out of the water and provided first aid.
Andriy Lubenets, a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman. Severely wounded in the war, last September, near a pond, he heard a 17-year-old boy’s cry for help. Despite his injured leg, Andriy swam to the boy and pushed him 20 meters to safety with one arm. Patrol police officers helped pull the boy out of the water and resuscitate him.
Ihor Kalashnyk, an electrician at a construction hypermarket. In May of this year, after Russian aerial bombs hit the hypermarket, he fully shut down the power to the building and helped evacuate four visitors from a smoke-filled area. He also removed generator barrels with fuel from the premises to prevent another explosion.
Polina Sholokh, a SES signaller. While at a car wash, she heard a woman screaming. Next to her was a boy with no signs of life, who had been pulled out of a drainage pit. Polina immediately began CPR, and after several minutes, the boy was breathing again.
Oleksandr Zhuk, a physical education teacher. Near a lake, he heard cries for help and saw three girls in the water. One had already lost consciousness and was pulling another down. Oleksandr rescued two of the girls from the water, while the third made it to the shore on her own.

Indeed, the place would have echoed with the sound of earthy language from both prisoner and officer alike...especially the phrase "turn yer pockets out!"
Unlike the city that gave us the first computer and Belle Vue (I'm talking about Manchester of course) Liverpool doesn't HAVE a police museum and this would be the perfect place for it (either that or Westminster Road) but I think that Copperas Hill would be the ideal venue because, unlike Rice Lane, it has somewhere to park the odd old police vehicle or two.
Nobody may like the police on Merseyside (or perhaps that's a generalisation) but policing has just as big a part to play in our local history as education and public health.

Andriy Lubenets, a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman. Severely wounded in the war, last September, near a pond, he heard a 17-year-old boy’s cry for help. Despite his injured leg, Andriy swam to the boy and pushed him 20 meters to safety with one arm. Patrol police officers helped pull the boy out of the water and resuscitate him.
Ihor Kalashnyk, an electrician at a construction hypermarket. In May of this year, after Russian aerial bombs hit the hypermarket, he fully shut down the power to the building and helped evacuate four visitors from a smoke-filled area. He also removed generator barrels with fuel from the premises to prevent another explosion.
Polina Sholokh, a SES signaller. While at a car wash, she heard a woman screaming. Next to her was a boy with no signs of life, who had been pulled out of a drainage pit. Polina immediately began CPR, and after several minutes, the boy was breathing again.
Oleksandr Zhuk, a physical education teacher. Near a lake, he heard cries for help and saw three girls in the water. One had already lost consciousness and was pulling another down. Oleksandr rescued two of the girls from the water, while the third made it to the shore on her own.

The Amanda Todd Memorial Service was held at the Red Robinson Theatre in Coquitlam, BC Canada on Nov 18, 2012. The event was a celebration of her life by friends and families of the teenager who committed suicide shortly after making a 9-minute Youtube video using flash cards detailing her tormented existence of being cyber-bullied, blackmailed and emotionally and even physically abused both online and in real-life. Amanda died in October, 2012. She would have been 16 years old on Nov 27, 2012. The video had since then gathered millions of views on Youtube.
The celebration began at 1:30Pm and lasted a little over two hours. While a pastor delivered a sermon, friends of Amanda and a teacher went on stage one after the other (sometimes in a group), each gave a short speech to express their love, sadness and sympathy towards the teenager. Many whipped tears as they spoke. The last two persons to give dedications were also two of the most important people in Amanda’s life, her parents Norm and Carol Todd. Norm and carol had been divorced with Amanda living with her mom up until the time of the teenager’s suicide.
Princess Snowflake was what Amanda liked her mum to call her. Mother didn’t understand why snowflake at first, so she looked up an urban dictionary and found out that what Amanda referred to was the uniqueness of each snowflake that falls from heaven to earth.
In an emotional 18-minute speech, Carol Todd spoke of her life with her daughter, how they have enriched each other. Even the mother admitted she has learned from the daughter who departed way too soon. Carol told of a story about a month before Amanda killed herself. They were walking along a street and Amanda saw a penny on the ground. She flipped the coin over, made a wish and then moved on. When her mother asked her why she didn’t keep the coin, she said someone else might do as she did and the coin would then become a good luck charm. The mother would now take her daughter’s lesson to heart and would do the same when she encounters a coin on the ground.
There were three musical performances by Cole Armour, Michaela Slinger and Singer/Songwriter Elise Estrada who went on stage and sang her single “Wonder Woman” live at the Red Robinson Theatre and dedicated it to Amanda Todd as well.
Carol Todd’s dedication was full of examples like this that were intimate stories of their lives together. There were joy, humor and laughter among her speech as well, but the ex-Mrs. Todd frequently whipped tears from her eyes and professed to have known which type of Kleenex was the softest.
Mr. Todd’s speech was more subdued and he kept his head bowed down most of the time. A day earlier, he had a tattoo done to his left arm with two words ‘Stay Strong’. Amanda was inspired by Demi Lovato, an American pop singer, X-Factor judge and anti-bullying advocate who had a ‘Stay Strong’ tattoo with each word itched on her left and right wrist. Norm and Amanda were supposed to have the tattoo done together, but Norm kept his end of the bargain after his daughter had gone.
After all dedications were over, a Todd family video recording of Amanda belting out a Hillary Duff song 'Someone Watching Over Me' was played on the large overhead projection screen for the audience to see. Amanda had desired to become a popular singer and have the world appreciate her talent, but it was only in death that she became famous. To wrap everything up, a slide-show presentation followed which was composed of a montage of family photos of Amanda, her parents and her brother accompanied by music and as well.
The media was kept at bay and were restricted to two small backroom booths capable of holding about 15 people each. Those shooting photos and videos found themselves too far back to get any more intimate shots. A mid-section row or two reserved for photographers would have been much appreciated in this writer’s view. Members of the press are a well-behaved bunch and do know how to show respect and honor privacy.
The celebration was held inside a show theater that is part of a casino complex, not exactly a church or funeral home. Those in the media who generated awareness and will likely continue to do so for the Amanda Todd legacy should have been given more consideration in making their jobs easier.
After the celebration inside the 1,074 seat theater was over, everyone was invited to an outside tent for coffee, cupcakes and other refreshment. Man-made snowflakes surrounded the tent paid tribute to the one whose cut-short life was celebrated on that day.

It has been helping family and children of the village to support their daily needs and education. School is not free in our country and there are still many children who drop out from their school as the parents are not able to pay for their school expenses. I have been selling the works to some of my friends in the US who have been so helpful in allowing us to have some cash to keep the works for those people and also giving some helps for the school children in providing them with the books, helping with their school fee and entrance fee to a new school.

The work 3 Brothers of the Brazilian artist Speto is a tribute to the brothers Villas Bôas as well as the narrative cultures of indigenous peoples of Brazil and therefore complements the international street art project along the subway line in QUARTER TWO.
As pioneers were Leonardo, Orlando and Cláudio Villas Bôas in the mid-1940s members of a governmental major expedition to colonize unexplored jungle areas in the hinterland of Brazil. Because they have been deeply moved by their encounters with the indigenous people of the Amazon basin, the three brothers evolved into committed advocates of indigenous rights and habitats. For their efforts, the brothers Villas Bôas have been nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Speto in his installation let himself be inspired by the myths and stories of the Aboriginal people of his homeland. This by the artist with spray can and paint roller condensed in terms of time and symbols arranged to polychromatic image compositions narratives build playfully a bridge between indigenous cosmogony, Brazilian folklore and contemporary urban art.
Spetos imagistic narrative technique thereby refers to the illustrated title pages of the Literatura de Cordel, a specific variety of the African Portuguese folk poetry from the northeast of Brazil. This, as says the poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade, is one of the "most genuine manifestations of the ingenuity, the sense of humor and the notions of criticality" of Brazilian popular culture.

Das Werk 3 Brothers des brasilianischen Künstlers Speto ist eine Hommage an die Gebrüder Villas Bôas sowie die Erzählkulturen der indigenen Bevölkerung Brasiliens und komplementiert damit das internationale Streetart Projekt entlang der U-Bahn-Trasse im VIERTEL ZWEI.
Als Pioniere waren Leonardo, Orlando und Cláudio Villas Bôas Mitte der 1940er-Jahre Mitglieder einer staatlichen Großexpedition zur Kolonisierung unerschlossener Dschungelgebiete im Hinterland Brasiliens. Da sie ihre Begegnungen mit den UreinwohnerInnen des Amazonasbeckens zutiefst bewegten, entwickelten sich die drei Brüder zu engagierten Verfechtern indigener Rechte und Lebensräume. Für ihren Einsatz wurden die Gebrüder Villas Bôas zweimal für den Friedensnobelpreis nominiert.
Speto lässt sich in seiner Installation von den Mythen und Erzählungen der UreinwohnerInnen seines Heimatlandes inspirieren. Diese vom Künstler mit Spraydose und Farbroller zu symbolisch und zeitlich verdichteten, polychromatischen Bildkompositionen arrangierten Narrative schlagen spielerisch eine Brücke zwischen indigener Kosmogonie, brasilianischer Folklore und der zeitgenössischen Urban Art.
Spetos bildsprachliche Erzähltechnik bezieht sich dabei auf die illustrierten Titelblätter der Literatura de Cordel, einer spezifischen Spielart der afroportugiesischen Volkslyrik aus dem Nordosten Brasiliens. Diese, so meint der Lyriker Carlos Drummond de Andrade, zähle zu den „unverfälschtesten Manifestationen des Erfindungsgeistes, des Sinns für Humor und des kritischen Vermögens“ der brasilianischen Popularkultur.

Give. Advocate. Volunteer. In two days, United Way will host it's annual Day of Caring and I get to be one of the volunteer photographers. I've loved volunteering on this special day for years. The first time I did it was way back when I worked at Champion Hills and was the company's campaign coordinator. I'll always remember sorting clothes in the basement at Mainstay. How cool it was to come full circle this year and get to photograph Mainstay director, Tanya Blackford, for the 2011 billboard campaign. Eddie Martin, Also known as St. Eom, was the son of sharecroppers in rural Georgia. He left home at 14, worked the streets in NYC and returned home to a farm left to him by his mother at age 52 to begin his art work. Financing his materials by telling fortunes he became increasingly ill and committed suicide in 1986. The Smithsonian and Museum of Modern Art in NY acquired some of his work.

The bomb bay needs removing plus one rib on the forward section.
Two (out of four) windows need removing (forward area).
The round window.... That needs drilling out.
I made the glass insert from an old superglue pack. I drilled an appropriate sized hole in something (little paint tray) steamed the super glue packaging, quickly placed it over drilled hole and pressed a rounded tool into it. This was cut out, sort of. It still needs tidying. This is a first go effort for me!
After the cuts were made it was all pieced together. Something didn't look quite right.
Back to the drawing board! It's a little long overall.
I managed to trace this fault to the rear section.
Compared to the drawing, the fuselage matches up well!
