On August 9, 2010, the incoming first-year law students began their Legal Analysis course and took the Pledge of Professional Commitment, administered by Judge Edmondson of the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General (USG) and Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Jorge Moreira da Silva, visited Somalia from 13 to 14 April 2025 and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting country's peacebuilding efforts and helping it achieve its development goals.
During the visit, Mr. da Silva met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali; Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Bashir Mohamed Jama; Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia, Raisedon Zenenga; Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, George Conway; and EU Ambassador to Somalia, Karin Johansson.

Maj. Gen. Joseph Caravalho Jr., commanding general of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command and Fort Detrick presided over the ceremony for the graduates of the Naval Post Graduate School, Phase Two and Three, Advanced Acquisition Program, Sept. 11 2014. Caravalho spoke to the 28 graduates; a group of engineers, regulatory specialists, product managers, acquisition lawyers, commanders and deputy commanders from across the organization. Caravalho thanked the graduates for their willingness to go the extra mile in support of the command and its acquisition efforts. During his remarks, he referred to the graduates as “shining examples of the dedication and commitment that we expect from our employees.” After distributing the certificates Caravalho and the graduates paused for a photo before enjoying cake and punch.
