In showing our commitment to the energy sector the Global Project Logistics Network (GPLN) took part in the very first Heavy Lifting & Transport for the Power Sector Conference which was held in the Courtyard by Marriott Frankfurt Messe in Frankfurt, Germany.
This event brought together many of the decision makers in the wind energy and power industries in Europe as well as several of the best known international project shipping and logistics service providers. The conference was organized by Hanson Wade, who are also planning three similar events in 2010 in Singapore, Houston and Frankfurt.

CEA Project Logistics commitment to CSR related activities in community continued last week as a team from CEA head office in Laem Chabang joined forces with over 100 local volunteers and community leaders from Ao Udom.
The mission primarily was to improve the habitat for the local fish, artificial ‘Fish Houses’ were assembled by the volunteers, these would be taken out to sea with the purpose of increasing the breeding potential of the fish in turn creating more fish for the local fisherman to catch and increase their incomes. The fish houses would also protect the smaller fish from their natural larger predators.
When all the fish houses were placed in the sea, the second part of the mission began, this involved cleaning the surrounding beach area from rubbish and overgrowth to create a more aesthetic place to sit, relax and fish for tourists and locals alike.
Pharmacy students are photographed with their mentor. More than 150 pharmacy students from the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy took part in the 16th annual Professional Commitment Ceremony in the King Horn Sports Center. During the ceremony third-year pharmacy students receive their white coats from their pharmacist mentors – a symbol of this milestone in their journeys to become pharmacists.

Temple Contemporary continues its commitment to the protection of our watersheds by working with artist Jennie Shanker. For over a year Shanker has been supported by Temple Contemporary to produce drinking cups made from Marcellus Shale. Marcellus Shale is a rock formation impregnated with natural gas that is being fracked across the United States. Shanker is collecting the shale and refining it into clay that is cast and fired into ceramic cups, directly in the gallery. These cups are free to our visitors.

If I can direct your eyes away from the bridge you will see many footprints in the sand. This is because the sand was very soft and you sunk several inches walking on it. You'll also see the tide is out and had just gone out which meant some of the sand was still wet. I went down to the waters edge before this photo to get a closer picture of the bridge and was about to put my foot in the sea to see how cold it was but to my horror I had stepped on sinking sand and my whole leg was swallowed up to my knee.
First of all I panicked (who wouldn't? It was a shock) but then a few seconds later I realised I was in no danger (other than not telling my family I had gone on the beach and was hidden by the sand dunes) as the tide had just gone out and wouldn't be in for a while and I only had one leg that was sinking, my other leg was on firm sand. I also knew how to get out of sinking sand.
I managed to free myself and then shakily ran back to the safety of the pebbles (as seen in the photo). I still managed to get a last snap of the bridge and beach that had almost swallowed me, though. I'd say that's commitment!
