I have started doing some commissioned work so when I received contact from Sasha who said that she was ex-pro swimmer and loved Bronte, Bondi and Clovelly pools/ocean and would I do a portrait/lifestyle series of her in those areas for her Swimming School website - I was in seventh heaven.
Yes, I am living on bread and cheese(and cheese only on a Sunday ;))) but I do love it and am learning so much doing portraits/shots for other people - which has stretched me out even further. I keep saying - 'sure I can do that' and then hyperventilating inside . I do also say I have my own Rosiebondi way of doing things and that I am incapable of doing 'chocolate box' shots ;).
So Clovelly Beach is my latest discovery - its only 10 minutes drive away (next beach up from Bronte) and I used to turn my nose up at going there. It a mini bay, if you will, and is surrounded by concrete on either side however it has the most amazing deep body of water in between for snorkelling safely away from the surf and tides. Again it has its own mini-culture down there and Bronte Pool and Beach have been wondering why I have not been so much recently.
This was taken with my underwater Leica. The joy of photographing professional swimmers in water is that they are capable of doing all sorts of twists and turns and follow direction and Sasha did it so beautifully and Ms. Underwater Leica and I were in our absolute element. The more I live in this area the more I fall in love with it and its community :).

The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (Thai: พระที่นั่งอนันตสมาคม Phra Thinang Anantasamakhom) is a royal reception hall within Dusit Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. It was commissioned by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in 1908. The building was completed in 1915, 5 years after Rama V's death in 1910. It now serves as a museum and is from time to time employed for certain state occasions.

I'm a little under the weather, again, so I'm delaying the January commissions just a tad. I'll make the announcement when things are sorted. Thank you for understanding.
To light the way through Holy Week....my latest commissioned work, celebrating the mission of evangelisation of Holy Innocents' Catholic Church, Orpington, Kent.
A blessing, I was given the freedom to depict the faith of the church - and knew, almost instantaneously, that, through my painting with prayers, Jesus, Our Lady and the Holy Spirit would emerge.
In January I travelled to Orpington to view the contemporary 1970s designed church to take photographs and make drawings on location to inspire my painting; completed in February. I like to reach the heart and spirit.
The original oil painting is due to be presented to the church this month, appropriately enough during what are the 50 days of Easter.
Deep gratitude to devout parishioner and professional football choreographer Mike Delaney who made this commission possible; and the belief in my work of the parish priest Fr Victor Vella and members of the church.
Peace and Light !

The Alfa Romeo 6C name was used on road, race, and sports cars produced between 1927 and 1954 by Alfa Romeo; the "6C" name refers to the six cylinders of the car's straight-six engine. Bodies for these cars were made by coachbuilders such as James Young, Zagato, Touring Superleggera, Castagna, and Pinin Farina. Beginning in 1933 there was also a 6C version with an Alfa factory body, built in Portello. In the early 1920s Vittorio Jano received a commission to create a lightweight, high performance vehicle to replace the Giuseppe Merosi designed RL and RM models. The car was introduced in April 1925 at the Salone dell' Automobile di Milano as the 6C 1500. It was based on Alfa's P2 Grand Prix car, using a single overhead cam 1,487 cc in-line six-cylinder engine, producing 44 horsepower. In 1928 the 1500 Sport was presented, which was the first Alfa Romeo road car with double overhead camshafts.

In the mid-1920s, Alfa's RL was considered too large and heavy, so a new development began. The 2-litre formula that had led to Alfa Romeo winning the Automobile World Championship in 1925, changed to 1.5-litres for the 1926 season. The 6C 1500 was introduced in 1925 at the Milan Motor Show. Series production started in 1927,[3] with the P2 Grand Prix car as a starting point. The Alfa Romeo 6C-1500 Super Sport features a twin overhead cam six cylinder engine with a bore of 62 mm and stroke of 82 mm, giving a displacement of 1487 cc, as against the P2's 1,987 cc, while supercharging was dropped. First versions were bodied by James Young and Carrozzeria Touring.
In 1928, the 6C Sport model was released, with a dual overhead-camshaft engine. Its sport version won many races, including the 1928 Mille Miglia. Total production was 3,000 (200 with DOHC engines). Ten examples of a supercharged (compressore, compressor) Super Sport variant were also built. Wikipedia

One of my colleagues in the art department is retiring. She asked me to collaborate on her last project, a book that will be used as a gift. I got to roam around the school to show it in pictures - except that it could not be pictures of smiling kids. I know they make up a LOT of our day but my job was to capture things we see each day, the structures and textures of school life. They had to be in black and white too. I must say it was a great project to do.

Someone saw my little quilt like this on etsy and contacted me about making this larger one. It was inspired by the filminthefridge Blocks and Stripes quilt, but with some white sashing added in. This is actually the second version of the larger quilt because I forgot to account for shrinkage on the first one! It ended up about and inch and a half too small in both directions. I'm learning as I go here.
