⇨ poppy lemongrass

i've been terrible at posting my commission photos! this was one of my edits that everything just came together easily and flowed naturally. it felt like a good edit through the whole process and im happy with how it came out. poppy has such a unique and cute look, it was fun being able to do this for her.

Two best friends in a room.

The last of the autumn colour still lifts the scene, as 59003 ‘Yeoman Highlander’ ambles through the Wylye Valley at Little Langford with the notionally daily Westbury to Eastleigh engineer’s train.

59003 is one of the four original class 59s, completed in late 1985, 35 years ago at La Grange, Illinois. After arriving at Southampton Docks on 21st January 1986, 59001/2/3/4 were hauled via the Wylye Valley to Merehead prior to commissioning.

Unlike the other class 59/0s, 59003 is owned by GBRf and in 2020 spent most of its time working this train and its afternoon return.

I cannot claim to finding this viewpoint: thanks to Table 158 Photography for the inspiration, to gorgeousgordon45 and yellowvanman(Keith Mantle) for the gen and and [https://www.flickr.com/photos/144548079@N06] for up to minute weather reports from the area (sounds a bit like an acceptance speech for an Oscar)!

Doll suitable: Latidoll, PKF, other 1:8 doll or 1:6 doll with the long straps.

Commissioned planter-boxes with integrated seating awaiting the truck to be taken away and installed at MONA, Hobart.

Fabricated of Core 10 steel by Tasmanian blacksmith, Pete Matilla, the seats are furnished with Spotted Gum (Corymbia maculata), that has been charred with the oxy torch, wire-brushed and waxed.

The steel has been sandblasted, allowed to rust for several days before being torched and waxed as well.

Was a real joy being involved with the project.

Commissioned in the mid 19th century, Ballycotton lighthouse is still in use today but is automated and no longer manned. It is one of only a few lighthouses in the world that is painted black.

My first commissioned project

I have started doing some commissioned work so when I received contact from Sasha who said that she was ex-pro swimmer and loved Bronte, Bondi and Clovelly pools/ocean and would I do a portrait/lifestyle series of her in those areas for her Swimming School website - I was in seventh heaven.

Yes, I am living on bread and cheese(and cheese only on a Sunday ;))) but I do love it and am learning so much doing portraits/shots for other people - which has stretched me out even further. I keep saying - 'sure I can do that' and then hyperventilating inside . I do also say I have my own Rosiebondi way of doing things and that I am incapable of doing 'chocolate box' shots ;).

So Clovelly Beach is my latest discovery - its only 10 minutes drive away (next beach up from Bronte) and I used to turn my nose up at going there. It a mini bay, if you will, and is surrounded by concrete on either side however it has the most amazing deep body of water in between for snorkelling safely away from the surf and tides. Again it has its own mini-culture down there and Bronte Pool and Beach have been wondering why I have not been so much recently.

This was taken with my underwater Leica. The joy of photographing professional swimmers in water is that they are capable of doing all sorts of twists and turns and follow direction and Sasha did it so beautifully and Ms. Underwater Leica and I were in our absolute element. The more I live in this area the more I fall in love with it and its community :).

The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in New York City at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Its name is derived from the nickname for the state of New York. It stood as the world's tallest building for more than forty years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Center's North Tower was completed in 1972. Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building again became the tallest building in New York City and New York State.

The Empire State Building has been named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The building and its street floor interior are designated landmarks of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, and confirmed by the New York City Board of Estimate. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1986. In 2007, it was ranked number one on the List of America's Favorite Architecture according to the AIA. The building is owned and managed by W&H Properties.

Painted according to the buyer's specs and photo. Using the new Gretel (+pixie ears) head. Rainman (edit: Rainman is the original sculptor, but I'm not sure if he is the one who made those revisions) improved the mold by enlarging the right eye, so they are about the same size now, instead of this:

And the lower lip is now less protruded. She has eye pockets now so inserting eyes is easier. For some reason I find it difficult to use putty on Gretel. The putty just won't stick!

However, there are a few imperfections. There are areas that are not smooth. I remember especially under the left eyes there is a small dent.

The fitting of the pixie ears is a bit off. The instruction suggests the use of glue to fix the ears, but that won't be good if you want it on temporarily. You can't just slip it on because it won't hold up. I use putty to keep them in place.

I think this is my 3rd time working on a Lily. She has such a lovely mold. OvO
