Comments welcome -- Iceland or Glaucous? Bi-colored bill not as distinct as on Glaucous's I've seen before, and bill doesn't seem as large and stout. Size comparisons (previous photos) indicate Iceland. I can't decide if the forehead is rounded or flat. What do you think? Several people have told me they think it's Glaucous. Same bird in previous 2 photos and the next 2.
Addendum: After study and discussion, we've determined that this is a second winter Iceland Gull.

Seriously, you make my heart twingle with your kind comments. My favorite part of Flickr is connecting with passionate people especially those with similar interests. You all make me feel less weird and splendidly weird at the same time. Hugs!
In this shot I think you can sort of see by the angle of motion, the force with which it slaps the water with its wings and tail. They raise up, tip and then slap their wings and tail up and down in the water. Again, my assumption is the behavior agitates out the any dirt or debris from these areas. This is normal bird behavior of course, it's just on a grander scale since Sandhill Cranes are so big and their legs are so long.

Early December we had a visit to Cognac, my favourite French restaurant. Myself, Rebekah, Lexi and Alice for Alice's birthday meal.

wrenntopia_tom: My layout is 10 x 12 ft in the attic - I have to many locos ( lots for all regions ) need to upgrade the level of detail across the whole piece & stop "playing trains" when I get up there.👌😺😀
tonybeedham: 10 x 12 ft? Wow, jealous . Mine is just 9 x 6. It sit in a spare bedroom. I basically just built the "train set" I wanted as a kid using my old stock and just added to it bit by bit. wrenntopia_tom: You wouldn't wish to climb a loft ladder aged 76 trust me I'd swap any day for a spare rail room. I put 6 old doors up there 25 years ago, built a running layout for my son collected over 100 locos & more stock than u can shake a stick at.
wrenntopia_tom: Never touched it for 12 years or more but re laid most this winter. I got an I-pad app called "perfect video" it lets u crop, snip enhance mix vids with still shots it's user friendly & £3 to d/load. Is it based on Weymouth? Regards Tom
