When your dog hears the verbal “Come” command or sees the hand signal for the Come command, he should leave whatever he is doing and come sit in front of you so that you can touch his collar.
When practicing the Come command with your dog, you should make the experience of coming to you when called the best thing in the world that could happen to your dog. If you need to perform an unpleasant task with your dog, such as clip his nails, give him a bath or scold him, do not use the Come command or your dog will associate the command with a negative experience.
