… this underground CP is located at the end of RAF Hornchurch’s main runway, on the Rainham side. Its entrance is now apparently filled in. Given its small size, it must have felt pretty cramped in it during emergencies such as air attacks.

Perhaps helpful information for users of the Canon 1D series APS-H format cameras:
For some of Canons more modern EF-S lenses there are replacement EF mounts available to buy. The DIY mount conversion is easy, as there are only 6 small screws (4 for the bayonet; 2 for the contacts) holding the EF-S bayonet.
Additional advantage is the now metal mount, as there was always criticism for the plastic lens mounts.
I have successfully converted following EF-s lenses to EF mount:
Canon EF-S 10–18mm f/4.5–5.6 IS STM (covers APS-H from ~12mm and even full frame from 14mm upwards)
Canon EF-S 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS STM (covers APS-H from ~22mm)
Canon EF-S 55–250mm f/4–5.6 IS STM (covers APS-H at all focal lengths)

ACE High System (Allied Command Europe High) was a Troposcatter communication system of NATO during the Cold War.
One of my most intense experiences.
This place is located on a peak of Apls. It wasn't a rational decision to climb this snow mountain without any clear path at night. After I reached halfway and then realized it is just impossible to keep going on, but it's also too dangerous to go back. I was stuck in the middle and for the first time felt extremely desperate. It ends up with I slipped down by accident for over 10 meters. Bruises and scratches all over my body are evidence of the insanity of that night.
This place is epic, but for sure I won't risk myself doing something like this again.

"This is a model of the Apollo Command Module, which carried a total of 27 astronauts to lunar orbit aboard nine missions between 1968 and 1972. Launched by a Saturn V rocket, the largest and most powerful rocket ever built, the Command Module was the only part of the spacecraft recovered at the end of a mission."

The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) a memorial relating the historical impact of and on Bomber Command during the Second World War. Located on Canwick Hill, overlooking the city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire.
The city of Lincoln was selected for the location of the IBCC because 27 RAF Bomber Command stations (over a third of all Bomber Command stations) were based in the county during World War II. The large amount of airfields led to Lincolnshire being nicknamed the "Bomber County".
Located at Canwick Hill, the centre is just under two and half miles from RAF Waddington, which suffered the greatest losses of any Bomber Command station, and close to the former Avro aircraft production facility at Bracebridge Heath. A view of Lincoln Cathedral, a prominent landmark for aircrews, forms an important part of the vista from the centre of the Memorial Spire.
The aim of the IBCC is to tell the personal stories of members of the RAF Bomber Command, ground crew and civilians impacted by the bombing campaigns during the Second World War. The centre will also provide a comprehensive record of the role of Bomber Command's squadrons and to digitally display historical documentation and photographs relating to the activity of Bomber Command.
Within the grounds of the International Bomber Command Centre the Spire Memorial was erected on 10 May 2015. The memorial is a spire, reflecting the connection to Lincoln Cathedral. Created out of Corten A weathering steel, it is based on the dimensions of the wingspan of a Lancaster bomber, being 102ft high and 16ft at the base. The Spire was officially unveiled in October 2015 to an audience of 3,600 guests including 312 Bomber veterans.
The spire is encircled by walls carrying the names of all 57,871 men and women who gave their lives whilst serving in or supporting Bomber Command. This is the only place in the world where all these losses are memorialised.

I was commissioned a Keller design a while ago and always liked the look of the character. He's a bit different from what I normally make, but I wanted to make the most of the cloth products I had and modified CAC's Keller cloths to be a little more accurate. My printer couldn't color match the Sand Blue on the printed helmet, but it doesn't look too far off.
In the meantime, I've got some other interesting projects underway, so as always, expect more, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!
