The final command to shut down ESA's hugely successful Herschel mission was sent at 14:25 CEST, 17 June 2013.
For two years Command Sgt. Maj. Martin Conroy, who recently relinquished responsibility for Soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment, filled the hallways of battalion headquarters with artifacts and memories of both the unit and the regiment.

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group, conduct a Command Post Exercise-Functional training exercise Aug. 8, 2017, during annual training at Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to assess the unit’s ability to plan sustainment support in a simulated forward-deployed expeditionary environment. Air Force Lt. Gen. Russell Handy relinquishes command of the Alaskan Command, Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Region and 11th Air Force to Air Force Lt. Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach at Heritage Park at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 16, 2016. McAlester Army Ammunition Plant held a change of command ceremony on June 21, 2017. COL Sean M. Herron relinquished command to COL Joseph D. Blanding, who arrived in southeastern Oklahoma from the Joint Munitions Command, where he was the Chief of Staff. He is the 35th commander of the ammunition production facility that was commissioned as Naval Ammunition Depot, McAlester, on May 20, 1943, and the 18th commander since it was turned over to the U.S. Army. Col. David H. Carstens assumed command of U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden from Col. Jeffrey Dill during a change of command ceremony at the Wiesbaden Fitness Center Jan. 12. Dill, who led USAG Wiesbaden through massive transformation efforts for the past 31 months, moves on to serve as the G-3, chief of operations, for V Corps. Carstens comes to Wiesbaden after last serving as the executive officer to the deputy commander for U.S. Army Europe in Heidelberg.

In spring of 2012, 130 Silva Cell frames and 65 Silva Cell decks were installed in the footpath alongside memorial to support these 2 London Plane trees that were planted later that summer.
OSHIMA ISLAND, Japan (Apr. 1, 2011) - Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force arrive in Oshima Island, Japan to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. At a change-of-command ceremony inside the Carey Physical Fitness Center on Camp Casey in Dongducheon July 27, Lt. Col. Jon Gardner assumes command of U.S. Army Garrison Casey, replacing Lt. Col. Edward D. Eldridge, who commanded the garrison for the past two years and moves to a new assignment. Gardner’s previous assignment was with Special Operations Command-Europe, where he served as the Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Division chief. In a separate award ceremony shortly before the change-of-command, Eldridge received the Combined Forces Command Deputy Commander’s Medal, presented by Lt. Col. Warrior Country leaders host the Area I Command Information Exchange at Camp Casey's Warriors Club July 28. These quarterly meetings have replaced the traditional town hall that tended to brief what services are provided by the garrison while the CIE format is designed to address high-impact issues like the eventual closing of Casey Elementary School, availability of school bus monitors and changes to command sponsorship. The next Command Information Exchange is scheduled for Oct. 29 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Warriors Club.

Col. Jack Haefner assumed command of U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I June 30, replacing Col. John M. Scott. Scott moves to a new assignment on the Pentagon Joint Staff as Chief of Staff of Joint Force Development (J7).
On 18 July 2017, LISA Pathfinder was shut down after being placed in a safe disposal orbit. The final command was sent from ESOC, ESA's European Space Operations Centre, at 19:57 CEST that evening. That day, scientists, mission controllers and the mission's management team gathered at ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany, for a presentation on the successes of the mission prior to the shut-down.
Members of the 79th Sustainment Command (Support), 143rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), and British troops from the 102 Logistics Brigade participated in Lion Focus '16, in Vicenza, Italy, Aug. 30-Sept. 24, 2016. Lion Focus is a Multicomponent, Joint exercise run by U.S. Army Africa aimed at rehearsing crisis response planning in advance of future exercises and operations on the African continent.
