Torture Tues: You know how I can't stop laughing when someone gets hurt in a comical way??? Well, I'm STILL chuckling as I replay Nica P's AWESOME tumble today HAHAHAHHA... Hairy Hannah came ripping down the hilly trail to greet Nica P and when she got to Nica P, her leash got tangled in Nica P's leg and Nica P went airborne!! I am sooooooooooooo bummed I didn't get that one on video!!! But you know??? Because Nica P is so fit and strong, she just got right up and we all had a good laugh!!! If she weren't in shape, she would have been laying on the dirt for a very long time hahhahahaha!!! And come to think of it, Aloha G took a tumble tripping over Ellie-G yesterday ... not to mention my epic face plant into the cement when I tripped over the uneven surface of the sidewalk as I was racing Wailee in the dark...if we weren't in shape, it would have not been so funny!! Another reminder of the great benefits of staying healthy!!!

Another thing I missed on video....Wailee chasing geese/ducks towards the pond...we thought she was going to stop at the shore but my coyote jumped into the water and then had a look on her face like, "Uh ohhhh...." hahahha....after a moment of thought, she put those kangaroo legs into action and sprung up and BOUNCED/Hopped/Pranced back to shore!! I'm pretty sure the geese/ducks were laughing thinking, "You got your bachi!!"

Anyways, it was another awesome Torture Tues...After our 1 Mile XC Warm-Up, we did Arms/Legs/Cardio then Abs/Paddles.

After class, the Spam-Dogs had some off-leash fun. Ellie-G wore Wailee out with her wrestling game!!! I've never seen Wailee to tired hahahhah!!! After her bath to get the pond water off hahaha, she jumped on the couch and conked out!! HAHAH!!

Great stuff Windy M, Skinny S, Half T, Terminator, Killer A, Aloha G, Ab Queen, Nica P, Ripped L, Cat W and all the Spam-Dogs!!

Actually, these are jennys, but they were quite comical, so I couldn't resist the title.

This is from my recent trip to Death Valley (April 2014 trip). I've yet to upload all of the photos from last year's trip, so you'll have to wait until all of those are up before I get to this year's.

BTW, the wildflowers in the park this year are FABULOUS!

Here's one that's been on the back burner for a while - Nendoroid Sombra: Classic Skin edition from Overwatch.

I've mentioned Nendoroids here and there, but I've yet to actually review any on this page. The reason is that, like Play Arts, Nendoroids really aren't my thing. The price isn't horrible, but their small size, tiny accessories, and general inability to stand without support make these figures not really my thing. There are some character designs, like Windwaker Link and Kirby, that fit in perfectly with this aesthetic. Otherwise, as is mostly the case, a more sophisticated design is taken and simplified, given a Kawaii makeover, and then sold to the that particular audience. I do own a few, but overall, they're not the focus of my collecting.

The reason why Sombra, along with a few other future entries, have shown up now is that over the past month or so EB Games has had a combination of their year end inventory purge and several Five Dollar Friday events, accumulating in a small backlog of stuff for me to complain about, including several Nendoroids at rock bottom prices (highest being $10 CAD). So, look for those in the future, which will be touched upon as I literally dig through piles of stuff and unearth them.

For the uninitiated, Nendoroids are about 4 inches tall, and are effectively what 5 Star Pop figures should have been like with their articulation.. I mean come on.. THREE POINTS OF ARTICULATION?!?!? They are always designed using the Chibi artstyle, that is having squat bodies and oversized head.

Sombra is from a First Person Shooter, of FPS, by the name of Overwatch by Blizzard Entertainment. I don't even touch the genre, and even I've heard of this game and some of its characters. Sombra, however, is not one of these characters. A quick glance at the Internet seems to show her to be a saboteur of sorts, being able to hack into equipment of opponents to presumably disable them. Why is she in a tournament where people shoot each other with guns.. I have no idea.

Like with other figures I collect, there's no set price point or fit out for each release - there's a general price point where the figures start at, and prices flucutates depending on how many extra parts they may have crammed into the box. Sombra doesn't come with as many parts as others I've seen in the past, but there's a good reason for it. Sombra comes with the figure, alternate face plate, four additional hands, a translucent forearm and hand, a gun, a teleportation device, several hacking related effects, a overlay to recreate a cutscene, and the standard Nendoroid stand. The reason I say this is relatively light is that back in the day, Nendoroids didn't have articulation in the bodies, other than the head, so there were bent arms and legs included in the set as well. It'll be interesting as I open more boxes, but I suspect that the action figure Nendoroid body, which as reserved for, well, characters with action poses, may now be a standard thing.

The actual articulation in the body isn't going to blow your mind, but for something of this size it's not bad. You get single jointed knees, hips with thigh swivel, waist, mid torso, bicep swivel , single jointed elbows, wrist, and head. Its always been my experience that the outfits the Nendoroids are given are usually not the reason for limits to range of motion - it's generally always the shape of the body, Extremely fine articulation isn't really expect either, given the overall art style the went for seems to focus on the simplicity of the figures and the generally comical look of them. It's kind of like with the Egg Attack Action Black Widow - it's mostly about style, though there is some decent substance under the hood should you desire to utilize it.

Nendoroids are manufactured by Good Smile Company, and as such the same level of attention to paint applications present there are present on this, and every other Nendoroid I've ever handled. Finishes are appropriate, with gloss meant for areas that are highly reflective on the original art. Paint have been applied such that the finish its smooth, with no issues regarding bubbling or general paint adhesion issues. Paint masking is nice and crisp, and decals have been expertly applied. Overall, the look of this and every other Nendoroid figure is sharp, and if you ever pick one up that doesn't look presentable, chances are you have a bootleg in your hands.

Another area that legit Nendoroids always deliver on is build quality. I've never had issues with regards to parts fitting together, unsightly gaps, or flimsy part, and very seldom are there issues with joints being unable to support the weight for a pose. Good Smile Company has been making these things since 2006 and they have a formula that works great. Unlike Figma, I don't think there was a major revision to the Nendoroid body over the years, just expansion to increases the types of Nendoroids that are made. Because the parts on the figures all utilize the same joint system and peg sizes, you can theoretically easily create a character after your hearts desire from preexisting parts.

And that, friends, was our quick introduction to Nendoroids and overview of Sombra. Not really a figure I would pass up for $5, as Nendoroids are fun pieces to play with and are quite well made. It's just that their art style just isn't what I'm looking though as a main line collectible, though as mentioned above, there are exceptions to this rule. Look for more of these to show up her in the days to come.

Have you ever walked by someone laughing or smiling ? I find it to be contagious. My daughter, daughter-in-law and my lovelies (grandchildren) went downtown to English Bay to soak up the sun as it was another hot day here in Vancouver. We decided to go for some ice cream after playing at the beach . Crossing the street right at the corner of Denman and Davies is this tiny grassy square (Morton Park) and here are these 14 beautiful larger than life bronze statues. All in different comical poses and grinning from ear to ear. In no time , we were laughing and posing as we interacted with them. We then went for our ice-cream. Hmmm.... what a fun and delicious day!

A colourful and comical saga spanning four generations, related by Belmondo, the boy who becomes a gypsy king, and constructs his own village, “Shanghai”, against the rise and fall of the Yugoslav Republic.

Shanghai Gypsy is the most expensive Slovenian film ever made, involving the creation of huge sets near Maribor for this acclaimed adaptation of novelist Feri Lainscek's greatest literary success, and drawing on acting and musical talents from across the region. Some of the film’s sequences were also shot in Trieste, Italy. Shanghai Gypsy won Best Film at the South-East European Film Festival, Paris, in 2013

The film screening was introduced by director Marko Nabersnik (Best Screenplay Award, World Film Festival, Montreal) and Visar Vishka (Best Actor, FestFilmKosova), and followed by a Q&A session moderated by BBC broadcaster Phillip Bergson.

Depicting the comical happenings in a commercial kitchen, the non-verbal show Nanta recreates traditional Korean Samulnori rhythm with a modern twist. Igniting much interest from international audiences, the show also had a successful run on Broadway in New York.

Before I give you the information on these birds I want you to know I laughed most of the day about them. They are quite comical! The one with it's wings spread had just pooped and I swear it looks like the other two were just cracking up about it!!! The color of the eyes on the right side are the actual color and the info will tell you about them!!!

I have NEVER seen these birds before and I had to look them up to find out what they were!! They are quite interesting...like they nest in trees...yeah, with webbed feet mind you!!!

Now again before I give you the info on these darling creatures...I will be off of Flickr again for a week or two. John is having health issues again and will be going in for a heart catherization and from there we will know more. That is Aug. 8th. His diabetes is becoming out of control and the doctor said he is teetering on having to take insulin shots. This week he has seen 4 different doctors so I am sorry I have not had time to comment on anyone's photos. It's just been running for a week.

This day we stopped and went for a walk on The Chattahoochee River Walk, and I spotted these guys and girls. They certainly lifted our spirits that day!

Double-Crested Cormorant

It is an excellent diver. It makes long dives where it will chase and capture its prey in its expandable throat pouch. Smaller fish are swallowed under the water but when the cormorant surfaces with a larger fish, it will flip it, and swallow the fish head first!

In flight, it has a distinctive kinked neck and has long, pointed wings. Groups of Double Crested Cormorants are often found cooperating and fishing with White Pelicans.

They are social birds and hang out in groups. You will see them with their wings spread, drying their feathers in the sun. Cormorants don't have well developed oil glands like other birds which would keep their feathers waterproofed. On the plus side, this lack of oil glands actually helps them in underwater swimming.

Note the green sheen, the bright turquoise eyes, and the grayish beak on this breeding adult.

You can see the white on the breast and the bare yellow-ish pouch on this immature cormorant.

A comical element at Easter time, Jennifer Patterson on her moped of Two Fat Ladies fame.

Paul and Barry Chuckle with a to me to you moment with a ladder, the Cadburys Caramel Bunny with an important message, a pretty tub of colourful tulips, and Callum, which is an artists trademark in most paintings.

Meanwhile a Bakewell Pudding hurls itself amidst the characters.

Bakewell is the scene, as Jennifer Patterson once did a series for the Kirsty Wark TV series in the mid 90s "One Foot In The Past", a quest for the original Bakewell Pudding recipe which became something of a laugh, with Jennifer at the helm of her moped on her quest.

A comical looking butterfly that is fun to photograph. I dont know what the nose like structure does other than support the illusion that you are really looking at a leaf on a twig.

George Formby, OBE (26 May 1904 – 6 March 1961), was a British actor, singer-songwriter and comedian. He sang light, comical songs, usually playing the ukulele or banjolele. He was a major star of stage and screen in the 1930s and '40s, when Formby became the UK's highest-paid entertainer. His songs such as "When I'm Cleaning Windows" were particularly popular during the Second World War (1939–45).

When he and his wife travelled throughout the war, creating improvised lyrics to songs to fit the situation, they delighted their audiences. It was estimated that they played before three million Allied servicemen and women.

His 1937 song, "With My Little Stick of Blackpool Rock", was banned by the BBC because of its suggestive lyrics. Formby's cheerful, innocent demeanour and nasal, high-pitched Lancashire accent neutralised the shock value of the lyrics; a more aggressive comedian such as Max Miller would have delivered the same lyrics with a bawdy leer.

His best-known catchphrase was probably "It's turned out nice again!". In 1960, his last recorded song "Happy Go Lucky Me" / "Banjo Boy", peaked at number 40 in the UK Singles Chart. Since his death in 1961, a remix version of "When I'm Cleaning Windows" by 2 In A Tent charted in the early 1990s.

Recently, while on a flickr~buddy~photog~shoot...the guys went off on

an adventure, while I volunteered to stay with the gear. I was piddlin' around

w/my own gear and tripod...helping a kite surfer who was blown into the rocks...

and helping he and his friend to safety..... when, ok, wait for it... wait for it...

(cuz you might not believe it, but it is SO true!!!) ...all craziness broke out!

Ok, so...these 3 people walked by, carrying a 24 pack of beer

(now empty) and this paper bag which they proceeded to tell

me was a human head.... w h a ? ? ?

They saw all our gear, and asked me to take some pictures of them...

(omgawsh, they were so IN TO IT ~ how could I resist???)

Anyway, here they are, they gave me a card where to send

them the pics...haha.......although I did in fact take some photos,

in my mind, it was such a comical scene!!!

These guys were a RIOT! (the girl was off~camera)

I kinda' still don't know what to make of it, but get the widest smile of all time, when I think of

"Head in a Bag" !!! lol
