George Formby, OBE (26 May 1904 – 6 March 1961), was a British actor, singer-songwriter and comedian. He sang light, comical songs, usually playing the ukulele or banjolele. He was a major star of stage and screen in the 1930s and '40s, when Formby became the UK's highest-paid entertainer. His songs such as "When I'm Cleaning Windows" were particularly popular during the Second World War (1939–45).
When he and his wife travelled throughout the war, creating improvised lyrics to songs to fit the situation, they delighted their audiences. It was estimated that they played before three million Allied servicemen and women.
His 1937 song, "With My Little Stick of Blackpool Rock", was banned by the BBC because of its suggestive lyrics. Formby's cheerful, innocent demeanour and nasal, high-pitched Lancashire accent neutralised the shock value of the lyrics; a more aggressive comedian such as Max Miller would have delivered the same lyrics with a bawdy leer.
His best-known catchphrase was probably "It's turned out nice again!". In 1960, his last recorded song "Happy Go Lucky Me" / "Banjo Boy", peaked at number 40 in the UK Singles Chart. Since his death in 1961, a remix version of "When I'm Cleaning Windows" by 2 In A Tent charted in the early 1990s.

Torture Tues: You know how I can't stop laughing when someone gets hurt in a comical way??? Well, I'm STILL chuckling as I replay Nica P's AWESOME tumble today HAHAHAHHA... Hairy Hannah came ripping down the hilly trail to greet Nica P and when she got to Nica P, her leash got tangled in Nica P's leg and Nica P went airborne!! I am sooooooooooooo bummed I didn't get that one on video!!! But you know??? Because Nica P is so fit and strong, she just got right up and we all had a good laugh!!! If she weren't in shape, she would have been laying on the dirt for a very long time hahhahahaha!!! And come to think of it, Aloha G took a tumble tripping over Ellie-G yesterday ... not to mention my epic face plant into the cement when I tripped over the uneven surface of the sidewalk as I was racing Wailee in the dark...if we weren't in shape, it would have not been so funny!! Another reminder of the great benefits of staying healthy!!!
Another thing I missed on video....Wailee chasing geese/ducks towards the pond...we thought she was going to stop at the shore but my coyote jumped into the water and then had a look on her face like, "Uh ohhhh...." hahahha....after a moment of thought, she put those kangaroo legs into action and sprung up and BOUNCED/Hopped/Pranced back to shore!! I'm pretty sure the geese/ducks were laughing thinking, "You got your bachi!!"
Anyways, it was another awesome Torture Tues...After our 1 Mile XC Warm-Up, we did Arms/Legs/Cardio then Abs/Paddles.
After class, the Spam-Dogs had some off-leash fun. Ellie-G wore Wailee out with her wrestling game!!! I've never seen Wailee to tired hahahhah!!! After her bath to get the pond water off hahaha, she jumped on the couch and conked out!! HAHAH!!

Puffins look comical when they set off - this is a juvenile probably making its first flight - but they are superb flyers
American Coots, a very common but mostly unloved bird on the lawn at Moore Park. I'm not sure why people don't seem to like them but I think it has something to do with the fact that they aren't commonly hunted, and it is said they are "related to chickens" and "taste like mud.".

Roadrunners are somewhat comical and always interesting to watch. Contortionists and always active and curious, often carrying prey around in their beaks. This one was near Falcon Lake on the Texas/Mexico border.

Nature is unforgiving, sometimes in a tragically somewhat comical way, such as this Cooper’s Hawk being shown the finger by its prey or seemingly being begged for a mercy that wasn’t granted. Birds of Prey hunt for and eat other birds. This is how it goes; nature is merely rearranging its atoms to ensure its own survival and balance whether we choose to look at it or not.

Burton Overy is an attractive village with a church to match, St Andrew's being a mostly 14th/15th century structure in yellow/brown ironstone with limestone dressings giving that two-toned look that is such a pleasing feature of so many of Leicestershire's churches. It sits within a generously sized churchyard which adds so much to its picturesque charm.
The building consists of two main vessels, the nave and chancel that greet the visitor on approach and the north aisle and larger north chapel (whose east ends are similarly designed with large Perpendicular traceried windows side by side).
Within the church is darker and more atmospheric, the light level kept lower owing to a reasonable amount of Victorian glass. The medieval chancel screen remains in place and the nave roof is supported by some amusinglly quirky corbels.
This is an attractive and rewarding building to visit and happily is (or certainly was pre Covid) normally open for visitors during the day.
Kod, a loopy odd eyed cartoony Frog built in Maya intended for an animated short film developed by a professional animator and an old friend Jun Choi. This was my last day at the 2011 Carnevale di Venezia, Saturday, 5 March 2011. I spent most of the day wandering around the Piazza di San Marco. On this day there was a big area in the square roped off from the "common people" - to get in you had to fork over about 20 Euros; no way I would do that but when some other people went in a lovely ticket taker just waved me in - and how could I say no to an Italian lass? This area was close to the stage and it was a bit comical and disorganized as they try to organize the costumed characters to get up on stage - and I was in the middle of them - how funny!
After that I wandered aimlessly, just soaking up the ambiance of Carnevale!

Torture Tues: You know how I can't stop laughing when someone gets hurt in a comical way??? Well, I'm STILL chuckling as I replay Nica P's AWESOME tumble today HAHAHAHHA... Hairy Hannah came ripping down the hilly trail to greet Nica P and when she got to Nica P, her leash got tangled in Nica P's leg and Nica P went airborne!! I am sooooooooooooo bummed I didn't get that one on video!!! But you know??? Because Nica P is so fit and strong, she just got right up and we all had a good laugh!!! If she weren't in shape, she would have been laying on the dirt for a very long time hahhahahaha!!! And come to think of it, Aloha G took a tumble tripping over Ellie-G yesterday ... not to mention my epic face plant into the cement when I tripped over the uneven surface of the sidewalk as I was racing Wailee in the dark...if we weren't in shape, it would have not been so funny!! Another reminder of the great benefits of staying healthy!!!
Another thing I missed on video....Wailee chasing geese/ducks towards the pond...we thought she was going to stop at the shore but my coyote jumped into the water and then had a look on her face like, "Uh ohhhh...." hahahha....after a moment of thought, she put those kangaroo legs into action and sprung up and BOUNCED/Hopped/Pranced back to shore!! I'm pretty sure the geese/ducks were laughing thinking, "You got your bachi!!"
Anyways, it was another awesome Torture Tues...After our 1 Mile XC Warm-Up, we did Arms/Legs/Cardio then Abs/Paddles.
After class, the Spam-Dogs had some off-leash fun. Ellie-G wore Wailee out with her wrestling game!!! I've never seen Wailee to tired hahahhah!!! After her bath to get the pond water off hahaha, she jumped on the couch and conked out!! HAHAH!!
