Comedy and Tragedy

Pine (originally painted)
Made by William Rush, American,
born 1756, died 1833
William Rush created these two sculptures, Comedy and Tragedy, for Philadelphia's first theater, the New Theatre, at Sixth and Chestnut Streets. Until this time, Rush had been known for his carvings of ship's figureheads and for his ornamental work. This commission marked the beginning of the artist's creation of large-scale public sculptures.
Other works carved by Rush for Philadelphia include allegorical representations of the Schuykill River for the original waterworks (where City Hall stands today); a set of figures for the second waterworks at Fairmount (now part of the Museum's collection); and a full-length figure of George Washington.

Another shot from Lawrence Busker Festival. This is Jonathan Burns, "Flexible Comedy." A contortionist who put himself through a toilet seat, tennis racket and other items. Quite an entertaining young man!

A mask that I bought in the Castello district in Venice. The store where I bought it had a small workshop nearby where you could see the masks being made.
The shot was made with a Pentacon 50mm and a short macro ring (don't remember the size). Great lens, though best results are stepped down to 5,6 or further.

Please click and read this whole thing. My mother and I were driving down 290 one day and passed the longest tralier bed we had ever seen. It was kind of annoying until I looked and noticed that although the bed appeared to be empty, there was actually a load being hauled. If you look *reeeally* closely you will see ... the Tonka truck. No, I'm not kidding. Funniest. Thing. Ever.

He only had to stand there and he was funny. The only other person who could do that was Eric Morecambe. Two very funny men.

About "Best Friends Whenever”
In this live-action buddy comedy, best friends Cyd Ripley and Shelby Marcus gain the power to leap forward and backward in time whenever they want – and sometimes when they don't. Now they experience the twists and turns of friendship and high school and must decide between fixing mistakes in the past or catching a glimpse of the future, all while their friends, aspiring scientist Barry and his assistant, Renaldo (aka Naldo), scramble to figure out how Barry's time travel invention went awry in the first place.
The multi-camera series was created by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas (of Disney XD's "Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja") and is executive produced by Elinoff, Thomas and Emmy Award-winning producer Michael Kaplan ("Dog With A Blog," "Frasier"), and produced by Julie Tsutsui ("Liv and Maddie"). "Best Friends Whenever" is a production of It's a Laugh Productions, Inc. and carries a TV-G parental guideline. For more info visit DisneyChannel.com.
