I've been working on this image for awhile now and I am finally happy to share it!
It was taken during a snowstorm, so I had to grab my camera during the insane wind gusts and hope I didn't get blown off the mountain. During the walk up my feet got completely soaked from walking through puddles and snow, so it was a bit agonizing waiting for some light on the Little Horn and for the wind to die down but it was all worth it Some golden fagus in the foreground, twisted lakes in the midground and Cradle Mountain in the background.

Le flamant rose dort debout sur une ou deux pattes, la tête cachée sous une aile. Contrairement à la plupart des oiseaux, à cause de leur taille, les flamants doivent prendre quelques mètres d'élan pour décoller des eaux. Migrateurs, ils volent en formation, en gardant cou et pattes étirés. Les battements d'ailes, puissants et réguliers, les propulsent à 60 km/h sur des étapes de plusieurs centaines de kilomètres.
Flamingos often stand on one leg, the other leg tucked beneath the body. The reason for this behaviour is not fully understood. Recent research indicates that standing on one leg may allow the birds to conserve more body heat, given that they spend a significant amount of time wading in cold water. However, the behaviour also takes place in warm water. As well as standing in the water, flamingos may stamp their webbed feet in the mud to stir up food from the bottom.

Linden
Linden is the least populated town in the Blue Mountains served by its own Railway Station. Linden does however offer some fascinating history.
Just off the Great Western Highway within the bush you can find the ruins of ‘Weemala’ which was built in 1881. Unfortunately this building was destroyed by the 1968 bush fires which swept out of control through the Blue Mountains. Probably of more importance than Weemala is Linden Lodge after which the town is named and which is still standing.
It was raining and mist rising from the wet valleys, but a lovely view all the same! The setting sun peeking through just briefly to add a splash of colour and warmth.

Este grudou na tela que não saiu por nenhum decreto, ai fica dificil tirar a tela da frente.
Alem da paciencia de ficar no foco da tela e esperar o animal ficar quieto um pouco, a Luz tambem ajuda ou atrapalha para tirar essas telas.
Infelizmente como falei ja alguns meses o nosso Zoo aqui do Rio não é exemplo de um Zoologico para visitar.
As Jaulas são pessimas e ha algumas novas como fizeram da Arara Azul que supostamente parece com seu habit natural, mas são pequenas demais, parecendo ate um passar num viveiro pequeno.
Alem disto ha o fato de agora estarem vendendo cachorro quente, salgadinhos e batata frita em barraquinhas dentro do Zoo, algumas em frente as Jaulas dos macacos,
eu vi varias vezes adultos e criancas jogando comiga para eles..
Lamentavem que a administracao do nosso Zoo tenha permitido isto...
Agora a novidade foi ter uma cerca eletrica em volta da Jaula do Urso esta realmente foi nova para mim...
