Red flower green berry, Sydney Summer
Summer being December, this might have been designed for Christmas...

Created for Beautiful World Tents' Open Day at Knepp Castle Estate (you can just see the main wedding tipi in the background)
These cupcakes were for the 'Quintessentially English Tea-Pee', a smaller open tent available for birthdays, tea parties etc. I went for a vintage china theme, inspired by florals, mismatched tea cups and a pastel colourscheme.
It was an absolutely magical setting with the tipis surrounded by forest on one side and a lake on the other. I would love to have my wedding here *sighs wistfully*...
Decided to jump in as I missed last year. Settled on the overall shape and colourscheme, we’ll see how this goes...
Art Deco Beauty, building in Carnarvon, WA
Note the heritage colour scheme of cream, green and caramel-brown. Interesting how you can sometimes date places & things by their colour schemes (that particular shade of green!).

G-FGID/KD345/A, Goodyear FG-1D Corsair (CN 311) of the Fighter Collection gets airborne during it's display at the RNAS Culdrose Air Day 2015. Built in 1945 for the US Navy as 88297, the machine was withdrawn from use in 1956 and put up for disposal. Acquired by Frank Tallman in 1960, it passed through a range of owners as N8297 before joining the fighter Collection in 1991 and adopting this colourscheme from an 1850 Squadron aircraft based on the Royal Navy's HMS Vengeance in December 1945. The aircraft is current in 2023. Image by Lindsay Potts.
Black + White pottery, if not Japanese saki flasks then definitely influenced by same, presenting as stark, strong, modern.

Fresh produce: it always seems to be the beetroot that gets me & pulls my camera out, maybe it's the pink & green colour scheme...
Enjoying small things: it was a pleasure to see the patterned arrangement and smell the fresh produce. (Near Batemans Bay, NSW)

Colour scheme: the many colours of blue hydrangeas: 1 of an indeterminate number!
Grown by a neighbour, the variation in colour is astonishing.

Art Deco tiling detail on the Willow Tree Hotel, Scone, NSW
I love it that you can find these beautiful relics of an elegant time in our history, all faithfully preserved (no matter how much rural towns have decayed - and it is just shocking how they have been left to sink or swim).

Ai Weiwei: Oil Spill; 2006 - at the White Rabbit Gallery, Sydney (2019)
Ceramic. Commissioned & made by Chinese master porcelain makers after much trial & error in some sort of ironic comment on porcelain making itself. Each individual piece is quite thick & bows slightly into the middle & all are quite heavy & required some ingenuity to exhibit safely. Apparently this multi-piece work was previously shown on the floor but there were concerns that visitors might step on them and that they might break.
The caption (2 of 2) reads, in part: "Ai Weiwei asks us to consider the Faustian bargain that has resulted in unprecedented levels of pollution in the wake of China's modernisation."
This piece is from the White Rabbit Gallery's 'Super Natural' Exhibition, 2019. The gallery exhibits contemporary Chinese art (2000- ) from a private collection; the guided tour adds another level of detail & interest - see www.whiterabbitcollection.org/
NB. Interestingly, Flickr reports that "oil spill" is an invalid tag. Airbrushing reality? Ok, it has allowed it now: looks like this was a Flickr technical issue.

A recent cake for a Leeds United FC fan.
All decoration (including shield logo and scarf) handmade from sugarpaste.
Cake board also had contrasting blue and yellow ribbons to match the colourscheme.

Delighted to be included in Spoonflower's Trend Report 'SF2021PantoneCOTY Collection'. A happy accident that the yellow and gray colour scheme is close to Pantone's sensitively chosen Colours of the Year for 2021.

Poster art for Sydney Living Museums exhibition: 'How cities work' (2019)
I really liek the naive text, as well as the illustrations, especially the above and below ground divisions and what's portrayed in each!
Sorry I don't know who the artist is to give a credit, will be back to do so when I find out...

Design Challenge entry: 'Tulip pockets in 1960s colors, after Mary Quant, by Su_G' in a pillow sham mockup (c/o Roostery): combining three loves: tulips, Mary Quant dresses, and pockets. My entry in the 1960s Design Challenge. © Su Schaefer 2018
After a famous dress by Mary Quant under the Ginger Group label, that’s an utterly plain & simple A-line, with the sole decoration being the 'tulip' on the pocket with matching trim in the same color on the hem, sleeve & neck as well as the pocket. A sixties classic.

Old Warden Aerodrome- Best of British Show. Early December 2023, Spitfire FR Mk. Banner: ""In a sea of constant change we will always be the public library for all giving rise to the voices of our community" on the State Library Victoria, Swanston St Entrance, Melbourne, Victoria
It was so hard to capture this - I did my best but you still can't read the whole. Love the artwork, love the saying, love the concept, love public libraries. Gives me one of those 'feeling' moments and brings tears to my eyes.

Autumn at the playground, all gold and yellow. I've been trying to capture this scene for some weeks and think this is the best shot at it: I had to alter my angle so it was not totally dominated by the tree trunks.

I don't build much any more, but I'll build for Novvember.
This is another Destiny Jumpship, to scale with my earlier model, the Phaeton. I'm rather pleased with this, but the Phaeton remains my favourite.
This was fun to get all my dark blue out and in use though. Technically, the in-game colourscheme most closely matches lego Teal, but as we know, Mark Stafford killed teal. So I'm making do with the next best thing.
Transport for London have allowed the signage at Bond Street station to be renamed as part of the activities around London Fashion Week.
However, it certainly caused a stir amongst the passengers on the Central Line train I took through the station this morning. None of them were aware of the change, and a few were uncertain as to exactly where they were! I went back later and took a few shots.
The colour is apparently 'knight blue,' described by Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee as one of "Burberry’s new brand colours.” The colour scheme change affects all three lines at the station - Elizabeth, Central and Jubilee, but not completely. Whilst platform and guide signs around the corridors have changed, the signs on the walls opposite platforms, beyond the rails, still have their original Bond Street signs - clearly too difficult to change just for a week!
And on Oxford Street, the (relatively) modern entrance into the station via the shopping complex retains its Bond Street Station label and colour scheme, although the older entrance just to the east is in this temporary new scheme (I didn't look at the Elizabeth Line entrance to see whether it has been modified or not).
Here is my entry for SHIPtember, built in eight days. I decided to not do a generic spaceship but rather something special and unique from my last three SHIPs, and so I made my own original concept (which was a first for SHIPtember) and then I started, and after eight days of building I'm done, and I think it looks quite accurate to what I originally envisioned. It's only a little over 100 studs long, but it's quite massive. I will upload a swoosh (one hand!) and edit and other things later, like the light in the captain's cabin. Kai NRG, Isaac Snyder, and yours truly took inspiration from Ninjago vehicles for our SHIPs this year; which might be hard to see here, but perhaps you'll spot some ghosts, and the generally colourscheme was chosen from there. I'm happy with this model, some parts more than others, and hope you enjoy seeing it too!
Arrived today at Lelystad Airport on a Truck from Germany. Is a new customer for the Lelystad plant of Satys where the Heli wil get a total make over. I think the heli will get the colourscheme of Air Greenland (Red with white accents)
