Window detail, Adelaide, South Australia: set in the characteristic 'bluestone' walls of that city [this is how one sales blurb describes it: "Popularly known as Basalt, bluestone is a volcanic stone and thus, is extremely hard and durable."]
I love the way the red of the window frame sets off the other colours in this mini scene.

Love this colour scheme, especially that deep bright pink. Note the tiny flecks of white - relics of a spider's web.

Yeah I'm still a castle nut guys, I'm not completely lost to space ;)
The Mystic Isles of Avalonia house many diverse persons, creatures and landscapes. Wonderful Wallace, Brother of Senneck and Harry the Hallucinating Healer, is one of them. He lives in solitude in the middle of a small cluster of islands in the center of the isles. Unlike his elder and younger siblings, Wallace has deviated from potions and other magic, and found his love in astronomy. He spends his days charting the skies, bartering with the local fishermen, and smoking pipe-weed. Also like his brothers, he has an incredibly awesome beard, which he takes great pride in. potentially more pride than what he has in his astronomical discoveries.
Hey guys! Here is my main exhibit for the Christchurch brick show this weekend! it's been an interesting build, my original plan had been different, but then lugbulk didn't show up as early as i'd hoped so it changed :p the roof was a bit of a pain, but i'm pretty happy with the result. I had planned for a different colourscheme on the ground, but this worked too, when bulk arrives I guess I'll just have to build another moc with that scheme ;)
Now all I need is for it not to be completely obliterated on the way down to Christchurch!
Come see it in the weekend!
hope you all enjoy! This build would not have been possible without the support from the coolest canadiasian in the world. you know who you are, and everyone who knows him should know too. Thanks so much Mr Liu.
David
Hey all,
After a few teasers, I present you the full build now: Braewood Castle.
As I see myself mainly as a castle builder, I hadn't build a 'big' castle yet, so that had to change.
I decided to go with a design that is easy recognisable as a castle, but still looks way different from how most castle-mocs look like. For that reason I went for a design with complex angles and an unique colourscheme with my lovely purple but without green...
I'm really happy with the result and for me it's my best creation I've made, so I'm quite proud of the result.
It took me 2,5 months to build(although the last few weeks I didn't have much time to build).
In the end, the castle has a heighth of 80 centimeters and that's another personal record i've broken with this creation.
If you want to see this build in real life, you have to come to Legoworld in Utrecht, Netherlands where this build will be on display with some other builds.
I'm very interested in your opinion on this build, so feel free to comment below!

At the wheel aligner's - the most marvelous colour scheme: hot orange (almost red), white and a strong mid blue. Crisp, professional, businesslike.

Paperprintscan of an old Qantas 747 in Amsterdam.
Delivered to Qantas October 1980 as "City of Dubbo". Renamed "City of Hobard" in 1985 and finally repainted at Paris-Orly into new colourscheme in 1989..
Left the fleet in 1996.
Stored and finally scrapped at Marana(AZ) in 2003
Saudia has begon to repaint the aircraft in a revisited retro look, more or less similar to the colourscheme, used in the previous century.

I caught the end of the January We <3 Role-Play and found these fantastic cyborg arms from Wicca’s Wardrobe – they come with a HUD that means you can retexture them to match whatever cyborg colourscheme you fancy. I immediately knew that they would go perfectly with these legs that I’d found from DRD – they come in so many different designs and I have a feeling I’ll be going back to buy the others very soon!

I like the elegant colour scheme, with the orange and lighter coloured stripes around the perimeter of this fungus.

I really love the colour scheme of this plant, and the delicate tracery of veins on the flower, still slightly furled.

I hear that DXC 5356, the last green DX, is in Hutt workshops for an overhaul and repainting. Even though I was good friends with the loco in its Toll days, "about bloody time" is all I can say.
This snot-and-vomit colourscheme was introduced by Australian company Toll during their hot-potato ownership of the now re-nationalised New Zealand rail system.
Back on 22 August 2011, DXC 5356 and KiwiRail-painted sister 5454 wheeled an empty coalie down the Cass Bank, a few hours west of Christchurch.
Two glorious pieces - collected & matched by a talented & artistic friend: Nasturtiums times two - and the unmistakable style of Clarice Cliff, English ceramic artist who I only wish was Australian...

Here is my entry for SHIPtember, built in eight days. I decided to not do a generic spaceship but rather something special and unique from my last three SHIPs, and so I made my own original concept (which was a first for me in SHIPtember) and then I started, and after eight days of building I'm done, and I think it looks quite accurate to what I originally envisioned. It's only a little over 100 studs long, but it's quite massive. I will upload a swoosh (one hand!) and edit and other things later, like the light in the captain's cabin. Kai NRG, Isaac Snyder, and yours truly took inspiration from Ninjago vehicles for our SHIPs this year; which might be hard to see here, but perhaps you'll spot some ghosts, and the general colourscheme was chosen from there. I'm happy with this model, some parts more than others, and hope you enjoy seeing it too!
Former Reays Bova Futura YJ09 FHY has become the second vehicle outshopped in the new red-based colourscheme adopted by Swift; it is expected to be vinyled up fairly soon, though it will re-enter service on Saturday registered RIL 2576.
Splash of colour!
SP-LNO was formerly VQ-BAI and was the 3rd E-Jet painted in the yellow colourscheme of Saratov Airlines, yet with Ivolga titles as the airline rebranded itself in the aftermath of the An-148 crash. This airliner never entered service with the Russian airline though, as Ivolga folded just after the delivery in May 2018.
The frame had also briefly sported the livery of VIM Airlines before that, yet it had not been taken up either.

Continuing my exploration and celebration of small things with the patterns in this seaweed, left behind by the tide, at a beach near Batemans Bay, NSW. At Batemans Bay near where the sea meets the river, the seaweeds were extraordinary in variety and range. But I think this came from a different beach...
Note how the photographer has inserted herself into the picture with the shadow bottom right! (A typical shadow of a hand holding a small camera.)

Hawker Tempest II ,G-TEMT, outside the blister hangers to Sywell Aerodrome after a short engine run.
The aircraft, owned by Anglia Aircraft Restorations, is now only waiting for completion of the Bristol Centaurus VI engine test runs. G-TEMT has been finished in the colourscheme of Tempest II “PR533” with code “5R-V” as was flown by No 33 Sqn RAF in Malaya in the 1950’s.
After its service in the RAF, Tempest II MW763 was sold to the Bharatiya Vayu Sena (IAF, Indian Air Force) as HA586 in 1948. It served there until 1969, when it became a decoy at Poona AB. The famous Douglas W. Arnold of Warbirds of Great Britain Ltd. managed to acquire the fighter and had it shipped to Blackbushe in 1979.
As a restoration project, the fighter changed hands several times in the years that followed. It started with Nick Grace & Chris Horsley (Tangmere), and then passed on to Brian Angliss. At Brooklands the first attempts were made to restore the machine to airworthy condition. It was by that time registered as G-TEMT.
From Brooklands, MW763 went to Gerry Cooper/ Tempest Two Ltd, Sandtoft. The restoration in original RAF colours continued there in 1997 to 1999. The project was then trucked to Gamston, then Wickenby, and finally North Weald. And when final owner Anglia Restorations moved to Sywell, the Tempest went along.
Flying as the lead aircraft in the newly formed Couteau Delta, 652 wears a desert scheme celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Ouadi Doum raid. The colourscheme worn is representative of the Sepecat Jaguars that EC3/3 operated at the time
SmileOnSaturday theme this week: Sprinkles
Found these in the cupboard and photographed on a mirror in windowlight.
"Sugar spots, strands and flowers, these Dr. Oetker Ultimate Unicorn Sprinkles are ideal for insta-worthy bakes. With a fun and playful pastel colourscheme, these fun sprinkles are great for unicorn kids baking, or adding to Springtime bakes. Add to almost-set icing for the best results, and get creative with the kids.
Ready to eat: Great sprinkled on cupcakes and whole cakes. Apply to buttercream and icing just before it sets or onto ice cream just before serving. For a more dramatic result why not try covering the icing completely with sprinkles."
The ingredients dont make quite such good reading:
"Sugar, modified maize starch, vegetable fat (palm), starches, rice flour, glucose syrup, cocoa butter, colouring foods (concentrates from (spirulina, safflower, lemon, radish, sweet potato, beetroot juice)), colours (riboflavins, curcumin, carotenes, copper complexes of chlorophylls and chlorophyllins, brilliant blue FCF, anthocyanins), thickener (tragacanth), acidity regulator (citric acid), anti-caking agent (talc), flavouring."

This area of Western Australia, near Norseman,WA is rich in interesting, not to mention unique, geology and mineralisation... and of course mining. Although they came for the gold it would not surprise me if the tailings from some areas are worth more, now or in the future, than the first product of interest.

Colour scheme bugs - from Milsons Park, Kirribilli, NSW.
There were so many of them but could I get a crisp clear picture? No, in short. This was the best of a bad bunch.
I do seem to have orange on the brain right now, it has been in all my recent contest entries, and orange and teal both got into a runner up design for the current one. I do dream about lots of different colour schemes when I go to sleep though, so I wonder what it all means.

Colour scheme: Faded magnolia flower and dark green leaves in sub-tropical Sydney, Australia.
I love the combination of the very very dark green leaves (they have bronze backs which you can't really see) and then this pale apricot or peach, or very pale rust (surely there is a better colour word for this colour?) of the fading flowers.

One of my favourite flowers, doubtless due to many Asian art influences. One of the earliest blossoms to appear after Winter, always visually impressive on the leaf-less branches.

Go North East's Deptford-based "X-lines" branded Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5333 (BJ10 VUT) is pictured here basking in the sun in the yard at Deptford Depot, Sunderland, whilst undergoing preparation for service, ready for the launch of the vehicles on Monday 12 April. 09/04/21
The "X-lines" brand identity was introduced in 2019 to house express or limited-stop services and is designed to provide a more premium customer experience.
Service X20 at Deptford was one of the first services to be brought into the "X-lines" family, following service changes which saw an enhanced X20 service introduced, instead running all day Monday to Saturday instead of at peak-times only.
Further changes have been made to the route since, with its extension to Langley Park via Arnison Centre, providing cross-city links in Durham, and the introduction of a Sunday service.
The striking branding promotes the fast links between Sunderland and Durham, and aims to stand out against standard local buses with a metallic gold colourscheme.
Larger buses have been allocated to service X20 over the last twelve months due to social distancing needs, but these have been unbranded Wright Streetlites. Go North East has now confirmed that the full-size single-deck vehicle allocation will remain post-Covid, with the conversion of the service to 6x Mercedes Citaros, due to the growth these services saw pre-Covid.
A mystical magician approaching the solitary spire he calls home, to study the stars, read his books, and do magic stuff!
Greatly inspired by the fabulous artworks of Péah. Normally I try build original completely compositions, but when I saw his work I just had to build it, it's so beautiful, and I'd love to build more of it!
This is my main exhibit for the upcoming Auckland Brick show this weekend and Brickcon-NZ the following weekend, been tinkering with it for several months now, it was worth doing well I think :) unfortunately some bricks cough*lugbulk*cough haven't yet arrived which I would have loved to use, but you can't have everything can you? was a very fun build with some cool techniques and (what I think) is an awesome colourscheme, the ground is flesh and those accents are light and warm yellowish orange, I think? I finally found a use for all that medium azure i accidentally bought last year! :D
Enjoy everyone!
